worth the buying the SR ?

hey I was going to buy this sr20de just motor with a spun cam .for 200 is it worth the price to get it fixed for the swap? or just get a complete swap? pm me please

well is it a front wheel drive engine?what car you putting it in becuase some sr20de are fwd and will not work in a rwd car

SR’s are shit :stuck_out_tongue:

Just get the complete swap. It might cost more to have that incomplete motorset to par than if you waited a bit to get a decent motorset. If your experienced in that kind of stuff , i say go for it.

oh fuck its an NA sr20? for 200? gimmi that please ill come buy it on the weekend.

its from an s13 . and apparently Intense Motorsports had it in their car. im just not sure if it would be cheaper to buy another head and buy the swap separate

How do you “spin a cam” ??

^^^turn the engine on

lol,

How do you “spin a cam” ??

^^^turn the engine on

ok Kids,
SR20DE was a non turbo version available in the late s13/S14 I know I have one. They are not quite the same as the DET as they are distributor drive and have no provision for oil/coolant lines for the turbo.

The only thing that a FWD SR and a RWD sr ahare ar the lower end internals, IE: Crank rods, rodbolts, bearings, and connecting rods. That I’m aware of, there could be more.

If you cam “slipped” or “spun” as you put it. That means the piston came up while the valves were down. smashy smashy. As well its very likely that there is ireparible damage to the cam/cams timing chain cam sprockets etc…

I’d take the $200 and wait till I have about 10X that and get something worth while, as you’ll need 70% of another engine to fix this one anyway.
