Even better! Now you won’t feel bad about not doing anything to it. Go with the SR20DET…don’t waste your time and money trying to convert it to a T.
Don’t listen to these yahoo’s they don’t know the scenario. I have don the research, and have built an SR20DE+T if you want the low down and dirty on the project give me a call at MSSC 905-270-3166. Definatly not a waste of time or money.
whats needed to run a fwd g20 sr20 in a 240sx?
im thinking of locking thread right now
well to start you need to have a custom RWD tranny made, then you need a flux Capacitator, Vtec sensor wired to the tranny and an optical mechanical sequential clutch, then that sould get you going
a set of left handed golf clubs, breast milk from a real cambodian women, and a picture with a midget…holding these balloons.
dont turbo it… just run an na sr and do itb.
Uhm I don’t know how, well to be blunt, stupid everyone is… But the SR20DE is not only a FWD motor. In fact there is no way, that I have ever come accross to make a FWD SR20DE mount the other way and get everything to line up. That engine shouldn’t be called an SR as it shares virtually no interchangable parts with its RWD cousin.
SR20DE’s were found in the J’s and Q’s silvia. They are a beefier version of the SR20DET. They have a larger throttle body, significantly more aggressive cams. somthing SR guys should look into as they are comparable to many overly expensive aftermarket cams. Have from what I can tell larger intake ports on the head. And have a higher compression.
Aside from having a 10.5 : 1 compression ratio. a little high for turbo I admit. There are many Ausi reports of this motor making a smidge over 300Bhp on 10Psi of boost alone with no internal modification.
Do some research you will be astounded. And give MSSC a ring if you want all the details.
Well for starts the TB + Distributor would both point @ the firewall so I guess you’d start with cutting holes in the firewall so that the distrib clears and then a few more holes so you can route the intake throu the chassis/firewall and up into the TB

you could start with attaching a tranny/clutch…
