hahahah wow what a clown…if this is who i think it is w/ the Evo. :idiots
weak clutches huh? shit, i know evos running stock clutches with over 400 wtq. i was running about 350 all day for awhile.
when launching a car, the shearing force is incredible. over time everything will fail.
listen, none of us “know” what happened to the clutch, and we prob wont ever know unless he takes them to court and has an investigator dig deep to find the problem. thats not my issue. here u are blaming it all on mitsu saying this and that, when in fact u dont know shit. stop flexing those keyboard muscles because no one cares that u dont like mitsu and think subaru’s are superior.

i never ONCE said subaru is superior… so why dont you hold your fucking horses here pal…
first off, mitsubishi has a well documented history of weak ass clutches
secondly 3000 miles is a fucking joke no matter what “abuse” the car has seen.
thirdly its at the dealerships discretion and as you know the dealership is representing mitsubishi motors usa… thus by the dealer declining to warranty it, its effectively mitsu declining to help.
take a look at what that does down the line… it pisses off a customer whos brand new 40k$ car is fucked before its first oil change. the dealership declines warranty repair which MAY in turn cost mitsubishi another VEHICLE sale down the line rather than just the cost of a 400$ clutch… so in turn it might still COST mitsu 40k for a 400$ part… think about it like that… customer satisfaction bud… im not saying this should be done EVERY time someone has a problem with their car… but with a car THAT new with THAT few miles… that clutch gets warrantied hands down if im the writer/service manager… ive told gm AND chrysler reps to fuck themselves and to warranty something that they otherwise wouldnt… and if the manufacturer absolutely would not cover it i would put it on the dealership as a GOODWILL repair in interest of customer satisfaction.
They can’t warranty that type of thing unless its obvious part failure and not abuse.
Most anybody driving retarded can ruin an oem clutch in no time, especially on an AWD car.
u just dont get it do u? clutches can be smoked within minutes let alone 3000 miles. we dont know what happened here, and im sure if he did beat the shit out of the car he would not own up to it. so i will hold my horse, while u beat ur dead one on this topic because that pea size thing in your skull ur calling a brain just cant comprehend what we are all telling u.
you can insult my intelligence until you are blue in the face… but the FACT of the matter is IT DOESNT FUCKING MATTER what conditions the clutch saw. with a car that costs that much and mitsubishi usa AND mangino mitsubishi telling the customer to go fuck himself, i HIGHLY doubt he will be a repeat customer and its COSTING mitsu more then a $400 clutch… its costing them future sales… hence why they needed dodges help bailing them out over the past few years. because their policies are setting them up to fail.
ive been on the other side of the desk. you have not. YOU are the one that doesnt know what you’re talking about here PAL… so this time its your turn to shut the fuck up.
oh, deadbeatrec, i think i saw you taking out the trash or something, out towards nisky on rt7 the other day? the guy looked just like you
Not according to Mitsu, and it is their warrenty, their product. If they don’t want to replace a clutch because they think it was abused they have every right to do that. It says so in the warrenty, they would have to have an IQ similar to the avg IQ of this forum to not include that.
would it be really childish to say MAKE ME? :lol
and no i live in colonie, so wasnt me
yes, they have the right to say so… but im saying in the interest of good business and good customer relations, it should be replaced free of charge… not my call to say what happens… but i can give my opinion on the subject.
exactly,
and travis idk where you got the $400 evo clutch install but id like to go there, your looking a a BIT more than that.
yea and it smells worse than your Halitosis.
the customer didn’t even ask if it was a warranty-able item, as soon as I told him there was no actual failure and that the clutch had in fact worn out, he said no problem, let me know when its done. He understood that it wasnt going to be replaced free of charge. Everyone esp you should know how easy it is to fry a clutch in an AWD turbo car.
actually mitsu saved dodge,s ass ;D…see that,s why im glad im a tech so i can see what caused the failure in the first place if ya know what to look for all ya can say abuse or mech but if ya dont see it no one know,s and when i worked for mitsu i never warrentied one clutch …
Another thread ruined from travis’s intelect
what,s even better is that all car manufacture,s have some sort of datalogging on the comp for problems like this …i/e if a cust walks in and says my motor fried we can look at the data and see what went on to cause it
either way I think its hilarious this kid fried his clutch, before he was due for his first oil change hahaha
gotta love ppl that cant drive
Ya, that is impressive. i dont think i could do that if i tried
