wow, month to month available on VZW

this rly isnt THAT big of a deal. vzw will still make money on monthly access and wont loose money on selling phones at a discounted rate. people will appreciate contracts more though i bet, seeing how much of a discount they are really getting on a phone.

its a big step, and its gonna be HUGE in b2b for mtm, where they are already poviding their own equipment.

i havent released this to my resellers yet, I bet I’m gonna get bombarded with questions about it today.

i wonder how long it will take ATT to follow suit. When VZW dropped their wireless router plans down to $99, it made huge waves at ATT but it took them like 2 months to bring theirs down to match.

but they always did this IIRC… if you bought the phone out right you could get a plan and not have the contract… it was just not big… i rember doing it all the time at the shack b4 we lost VZW and we did it with sprint also shit thats how i got my first phone 7 years ago … are they lowering the price of the phones at all or still the $150-$1000…

not with big red. maybe sprint…

nevermind payasyougo … but still same deal … yea your right

pay as you go is not even close.

Good deal. If VZW didn’t cripple shit, I’d be all over it.

about time the majors lose the contract bs. Now once the month to month unlimited plan costs less than $70.00, it will be worthwhile.

Maybe its from the big lawsuit against version about their ETF being illegal? I just got something in the mail saying i’m eligible to receive comp from a ETF.

No you didn’t. Because there isn’t a lawsuit against VzW about our “ETF being illegal.”

Before you had to have at least a 1-yr contract, whether you provided your own equipment, bought one at full retail price, or bought it at the 1-yr contract price. So this is in fact new. I do think this will not be something we push hard for and it will just be there to say we have it, however.

As far as full retail pricing goes, don’t expect the FRP prices to go down until the manufacturers lower their prices on the phones. Like said before, Europeans gladly drop $300-$400 on a phone all the time and they don’t have contracts. So to you people who absolutely hate contracts, look forward to paying $$$ for phones.

A penalty to cancel a contract is legit. You sign up and as long as they dont change anything, you are required to pay any ETF disclosed in the contract. I ALWAYS take a paper copy of the one they give me when I sign up for any service incase something changes. Its pretty funny to when you call Verizon and tell them you are allowed to do something because in the contract in section X line X.

They usually freeze and get a supervisor.

That’s because those reps are there for customer service, not legalities. Call up AT&T and do the same thing, I bet you get the same response.

i also wouldn’t be surprised if they didn’t offer access discounts to ppl that sign up for this.

they dont, its in the m&p

bags pmed

To be specific that’s actually a QRG not a M&P :stuck_out_tongue:

But anyway, they are offering access discounts to all non-government employees. So everyone except for local, state, and federal government employees can still get their ECPD access discounts.

And I was right on the money when it came to how the commissions will work. It rolls up as 25% to reps Sales Dollar Quota and retires a Net Activation.

Another cool thing is that they only have to be on month-to-month for 30 days before they are a commissionable upgrade. If you get them to sign a contract after 30 days you get 50% if it’s a 1-yr contract or 100% if it’s a 2-yr contract as always.

Hopefully when this launches its big so I can bang out a crazy multiplier for the 6th month in a row…
