So seriously, why can’t more be done to cut down on the scammers? I mean, the person driving the escalade obviously has to register it, so the state has a record. They shop at Tops or Wegmans, so there is a computer record of every single thing they’ve ever purchased, why not examine it and see if they’re spending their assistance wisely? I mean, I eat marshmellow stars or some other generic shit, so if they’re eating Lucky Charms on my tax dollar I’m gonna be pissed. =)
How about a simple program where store clerks can report suspicious users. Like when the person buys milk and eggs with food stamps and then pays for the booze and cigs in cash, while wearing their name brand clothes and talking on their top of the line cell phone. I’m guessing that food stamp has to have some sort of identifier on it so it could be traced back to an individual. And if it doesn’t, change the damn thing so it can be. Hell, give me 25k and I’ll build a database and web front end to do the whole thing.
Maybe people sell their foodstamps for like half price so they can buy crack.
Maybe the person in the Escalade bought them from someone and was buying food at half price so they could afford a Caddy.:lol:

While i agree about somethings being said like people taking advantage of the system but there are alot that dont.
I find it hard to read stuff being typed from people who have never had the experience some of us have had and the embarassment that some of us have felt.
Unless you have lived in your car at one point/ or lived through motels, or had to stand in lines at the grocery store with your mother embarassed that she has to pay with foodstamps, and knowing that the clerk/ person standing next in line is already passing judgement, or excepted used clothes because you cant afford new clothes, or the everso free lucnh program at school, then maybe you should give it a shot and then pass judgement.

yeah medicade is “being refined”…so ive been out of health insurance for 2 1/2 months, i called them today, itl be a while longer they said, meaning i probably wont have insurance for another 3-6 months knowing how NYS works. gota love being poor…what am i paying taxes for again? oh yeah…poor black people…duh. I wasnt aware that there was a huge market for buying used 20k suv’s esecially when you owe 20k on them and you wont ever sell them for more than 12.5-15g. Thats after finding someone to buy it after waiting 5months to even find a buyer. Then guess what?? its still got a lien on it from the bank, so consider that idea out the window. Also I used to be a cashier, I don’t think there were any markings, etc to link food stamps to a certain person. They just came in a book of $20, $50, etc.
