There is not a Canon DSLR (with kit lens) for less then $400 new anywhere.
With that said, I have a mint 50D that I’d take $900 for, no lens.
Do any of the photo or even hobby shops have trade ins? Maybe look to see what they have.
You’re better off buying used gear on fourms however B&H has a used department with a ton of great stuff.

i just got a use canon while i was in florida for 4 hundo from a pawn shop :rofl
So…I went shopping last night, and I was looking at what I actually want a camera for and decided I didnt need a dslr,I instead went with a Canon Powershot SX20 IS, got it for $399, and then got a additional 2 yr warranty for 30 bucks, not bad. It got very good reviews and is more user friendly for me, a dslr just seemed too professional for what I wanted a camera for. Ill post up some pics once I get used to it :thumbup
