WTB > FS

Anyone else noticed that there are like 2 WTB for every FS thread in the 240sx Cars For Sale Section???

lots of peoples looking to get in and not enough good ones on the market.

interesting stuff.

everyone wants to be a cool kid. However, most of those threads are started by…

People with “5000$” budgets, that are either

-more like 1500$
-mom’s 3500$
-when i bro bro sell my civic bro $

or

Looking for project car, must be

-mint
-no rust
-sr preffered
-max $2500
-has to be red
-has to be owned by bing

or

WTB Project
-doesnt have a place to put it
-has no money
-not willing to travel farther than 10 min
-will trade rc models for s14

HAHA this post.

i dont see that as a counterpost

Yes, I noticed that too Bing. Interesting stuff.

Me and varun were discussing the “is the ship sinking or what” and It is very hard to tell. I will def say the “honda kids” have come into the scene alot lately.

alot of the mid and late 90s cars are slowly getting scarped by the numbers, two of my friend’s one with a 93 civic and a 97 240sx had to send the bodies to the scrapper. both with lots of good money invested. finding a s13 with a body worth keeping has become very rare and s14s are heading in the same way. i’m happy that mine was owned by a crown rust proof owner before me and never winter driven and plan on making it live to see many generations too come.

Varun has had that conversation with me every 6 months for the last 10 years.

It’s not serious, he’s trying to see how long you’re going to be around. It’s socio-competitive forecasting.

Yeah, I gathered that, hahaha

Same thing on kijiji, almost 45% of 240sx ads are wanted.

yap.

Hahah. Dylan is a funny guy. ahah

The new generation, oh my.

The cars are gettin older, rust is becoming a normal thing, people just don’t want to invest their time or money anymore it seems, everyone is waiting for the perfect chassis.

Then you’ve got people parting out cars that WOULD be a perfect project for someone cheap but, handy.

And people don’t want to pay for the perfect chassis. They rather put work into a not to perfect chassis which in the end ends up costing as much or more then the perfect chassis.

it’s easier to finance a gradual build no bank is going to loan against a 240sx.

why can’t everyone have Dylan’s money. frig

coming from the guy with a bnib town and country and a red e92 m3. K pal

I would think there are less people selling cars now because of the price point they would want to sell at. It is very rare to find that little old lady selling a clean untouched s-chassis, they’ve all been bought up and either modded or crashed into a wall. I’ve considered selling my car a couple times but never have. I personally would never pay what I would sell my car for so why would anyone else. I think the only way to sell an s-chassis (a nice s-chassis) is to part them out, sell your goods and let someone else take the shell and start again.

If i were to ever sell my 240, it would have to be a part out, which is why i’ve never done it.

old ass cars, most that are still on the road are abused and rusted out near the end of their life. kinda expected

the good ones are either too expensive or not for sale

plus the addition of ricer tuner drift monkeys
