I think the 240 fad is over...

Way too many people selling/parting their chariots this year.

Discuss.

i doubt it, just because various people are selling their cars it doesnt mean its over.
I think its going to get even bigger, parts are more available, and just wait till drifting gets bigger and that new F&F movie comes out.

The “fad” is in no way over.

Alot of us guys who’ve had the cars for a long time are moving on to
other things. There are plenty of new younger guys comming in to replace
us.

Its all a matter or priorities, as we get older things change, and its as
simple as that.

There are many different reasons for selling stuff, just like there is many
reasons to buy stuff, but when it comes down to it, its a shift in priorities.

Word.

So how many of you guys are gonna move to the rx-7 world? O:) hehe

Who thinks Gautam is coming up with worse and worse threads and posts lately?

Discuss.

I tihnk it’ll just get bigger. The ‘fad’ that is.

With F&F 3 and the whole drifting thing, of course the fad will grow.

Besides, SR20’s seem to be getting easier to come by AND more popular…

And to top it off, the S13/S14 are still nice looking cars IMO.

Just keepin the board alive :wavey:

I’m just frustrated in seeing everyone including their grandmas selling
their 240s. It’s depressing.

I could give two shits about JoeBob and his 89 240sx w/ Ractive cold-air-
intake if he decided to sell it.

But these are guys who’ve put blood/sweat/tears/money into their cars
only to give it up. As much as I understand its hard for them to do it and
they have reason, it sucks that they still have to.

You notice the people selling or parting out their cars because the people that are doing it are people that had been a part of the board for a while, and had cars that stood out. … there really has been what, 4-5 ?

Here is something interesting, check the number of MODS and RL’s that still own a 240sx.

the fad is just begining…and thats the problem for some, i hate being associated with the highschool kids being idiots in cars, and like andrew said, it’s time to grow up. People change and it’s just part of life.

classic datsuns here we go!

the fad will not be over for a while.

the sad thing is that the guys selling their cars knew there shit… the newbs doin these cars now are rice boys…

its too bad

GT

With all you OGs gone, who’e gonna lead the army against the rebellion?

I dont think its close to being over yet either, there is going to be tones of 240 rice coming our way

There is still a few of us that know what to do and what not to do. And its those of us that will lead the way of those have been blinded by the rice. For over the path of our forefather our wheels shall mark up also. For there will not be a person looking upon the mark of rubber engraved on asphault and wonder of a generation lost of great masters of the driveway garage. It is us who will tell the stories. It is us who will enlight the stupid.
Until the day the chosen one will appear. In a spot riveted, striped and polished interior, a single seat, 500hp at the wheels, flushest deepest golden rims with no wheel gap that you can only glance at once for the fear of being blinded. On the foggy night on the hour this one will appear, and this one will tell us what to do…

Bliiiinded by the rice! Revved up like a douche…another runner in the night!

Hhaha, now I have something to work towards

If it turns out to be Jantos :noes:

even if I do sell my car, I would immediately get an S14…

The fad IS NOT over, not by a long shot.

it seems like “everyone” is selling their cars but when u really think about it its only team mischief. they probably have some secret plan or something.

greg, parted
pav, parted
andrew, parted
bob, parting/crashed
mike, selling

then theres me but i doubt i’ll actually sell my car, like i said im weighing options.

the fad is getting bigger, drifting is everywhere. look at the molson indy even… and in War Of The Worlds, Tom Cruise randomly drifts his mustang.
Rhys Millen is the stunt driver in The Dukes Of Hazzard and is currently building a 64’ GTO drift car (mixing genres)

The big difference between 240 hype and the previous civic hype from the past few years is that civics are a dime a dozen and 240s are rare, and for one in good shape they are EXTREMELY rare.

i’ll stop. discuss.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that! That was golden!
