on more serious note ghetto ka doesn’t work so well, ur 1st purchase should be something to controll fuel timing with than scrap up turbo mafs injectors etc
Naaahh you can totally set up a “ghetto” turbo system on the KA. Well around $1000 bucks. As long as you don’t boost it with anything bigger than a T28 and around 6 psi you shouldn’t need much fuel management. However, if you were planning on stepping it up an SAFC would help out a lot.
Get an ebay manifold, buy Nis240’s turbo and maf, snag a downpipe and injectors and some sorta side mount intercooler and call it a day.
Just make sure you have decent compression or this set-up won’t last long.

You going to increase cfm by 25-30% at 7-9 psi on t28 and expect fuel just to start poring in on its own somehow ahha With that kind of advice he 'll be posting “wtb new motor” right away. Also how u going to pull timing in boost than , ? Bigger injectors , maf how u gonna controll those. ?
I hope u get my point here get bikirom, doughter board etc something that controlls both fuel and timing map first , learn how to use it on NA. Than strap on manifold turbo etc and retune for forced induction. And what nis240 has is a good package for u for starters just add some 550cc rx7 injectors and walbro. Ghetto don’t last, do it right the 1st time.
safc stay the f… away at any amount of boost , if u know how safc works with Na ecu’s. if not i suggest u do ur research prior to purchasing 1 u acctually make ecu advance timing in boost.
What am I smoking? Maybe a t28 is too big for no fuel management, but a t25 should be good. The N60 maf allows 30% more flow than the stock one, compensating for the turbo. The maf has the same wiring as the stock maf, so it wires right in with no problems.
Countless people on ka-t.org have ran a set-up very similar to this, practically all with good results.
And practically every one of those set-ups used an SAFC when fuel management came into play.
Dude your soo far off. There was a guy on KA-T about 1.5 years ago. He was running 5 pounds on a super small T3 (caravan turbo or something) and had a FMU. Lets just say at that boost his car lasted about 2 weeks.
wow! hey hey guys im not looking to get you guys all arguing and stuff … im just looking for the parts, i guess i could have gave you my intensions for why i want a ghetto setup! this is the reason: i like to drift and my stock de just doesnt get my ass out there. as fas as how long i want my motor to last is most likely till the winter. 1000 to maybe 1500 is what i want to spend because im probaly gona sell this bitch and get a rhd! seems like the thing to do these days haha but yes definitly give my a shout nis240 as i will be interested in likely every thing you have… well i got to go for now so if anyone has anymore input or parts give me a message thanks guys
This is not a place to talk about managment and ka-t’s. But if u planning on running it longer than a month get some managment if u have de go with bikiboard.
Jordan did make a 700$ kit on the ka-t.org but it works not cuz it has no managment but becouse of equlient increases in injector vs maf . Ur ecu calculates’ TP" theoretical pulthwith based on those factors. So by getting injectors 30% biiger and maf 30% bigger he balanced it if u know what i mean, so tp calculated properly. Jordan was acctually the one who build my manifold and when talked to him 1 day he explained to me he retarded base timing by 5dbtdc . Safe for boost , not so good till boost considering u robing NA powerband by 5dbtdc before boost kicks in.
