WTB: KA24DE Rebuild Parts

Rebuilding a KA24DE, and I am looking for Turbo parts for it… Stuff like turbo pistons, a rebuilt head, camshafts, etc. I don’t want to buy all these new so I am hoping someone wants to get rid of theirs.

i got a 24de in my parts car if you need anything

no thanks. What I guess I am trying tog et across is that Iw ant to turbo my KA24DE and Want to upgrade my internals. If anyone has any lasying around due to a stop in there turbo KA project, etc, I will take 'em off ur hands.

I have a un used valve cover gasket if that helps at all haha  let me know I can bring it up with the side skirts

for 1 why u want aftermarket parts for ka? whats ur power goal under 350-400whp than use new oem parts .use extra $$ to tune it right

2 do ur research on ka-t.org etc they have vendors there for forged ka parts (cp pistons etc)
ka24de.com has quiet a few also

2 don’t be lazy about gettin everything replaced and have machine shop inspect it(or buy feeler gage etc to measure clearances). last year on my ka-t i changed hgasket, chain, clutch bunch of other parts… but didn’t rebuild the block . sure enough boost finished off my main bearings … now i gotta pull the mfucker out again so i can redo the block.

by the way those are prices from ericson nissan i got last week : main bearing set 80$ rod bearing set 50$ piston rings 65$ i think ,
but i decided to go with dash distibutors for piston rings ,they can get a set of crome rings for 80$.
full gasket set i got last year at part sourse for 80$ (fellpro).

Never buy used pistons/rods or other major engine components. You never know what they’ve been through… I wouldnt take the risk of spending all that money on parts that could be damaged or weak.

thanks guys this helps alot. I then will ask one more question. Can I swap a SOHC motor into a DOHC with a simple head and ECU change? If not, i need to know how much roughly to rebuild a DOHC engine. No history on it so better be safe then sorry.

Go to reputable shop and get a quote. I’d recomment Auto Dynamics, they’re on 82nd street and 111th ave. Tell em Jeff with the CRX sent you, 2 of my good friends are there as autobody and mechanic apprentices.

No. Ive thought about it b4.

man go ka-t.org haha or 240sx.org ka-t section get an account start posting /searching
honestly u will find enough info for a month to read by searching there.or pm me i have been around those boards for past few years and have some hands on expirience

and yes u can just swap “E” engine+ecu
if u asking about ka24e to ka24de head swap on the same block it has been done as well, u would need to customize timing cover… just go “search” u know where … to much detail to explain

instead of swapping just rebuild thow than u have 0 kms on the engine.

So if I put in a KA24DE ECU and head on a KA24E Block and completely remove the timing cover, this should work? What problems should I expect with this?

Do you have the skills to fabricate a custom front timing chain cover?. Why dont you just buy a DOHC engine, harness and ECU? Why do you want to use a SOHC block considering it doesnt even have piston oil squirters? Are you planning on turboing??

If your planning on turboing and want a KA24DE than you might as well just swap in a SR. It will be cheaper and will requires half the work considering you dont have to spend time collecting all the parts to turbo the KA.

because i have a turbo manifold, now all i need to reach my goal as a daily driver of 250 whp, is a downpipe, oil lines, t3 turbo and management.

??? so basicly you only have a manifold. I have a KA24DE for sale. 215.xxx kms on it. Did not bure a drop of oil, 4L in 4 L out

he is right about the whole fabing up covers …u need to cut 1/2 from e and other from de than tig em together …aint easy better of swapping in de…

and wanting only 250whp u don’t need no oil squirters
if i was u :
i sell the manifold get ka24e mani
turbo it , boost till u blow it hahah than rebuild with 0k on it… now 250whp daily driven won’t be a problem.

other option leave ka alone swap in ca get intercooler , up the boost …just hope ca is in good shape

what differences for HP will there be from a SOHC and a DOHC? Which will be more practical for turboing? I have both engines already, both ineed of rebuilding and a turbo manifold for the DOHC. What will stock internals hold up for boost on the SOHC?
