I just acquired a frightening 98 Jetta VR6 with a bad a/c compressor clutch. It hums with the a/c on and shrieks with it off. Anybody got one that spins freely? Don’t care if it leaks, just don’t want it to seize and throw the belt.
Take it off and buy the non ac belt from germanautoparts.com always an option since you are going to be replacing it anyway.
I assumed they all came with a/c and that no such belt existed. Thanks.
