Well i need to get a windshield out of my car then a parts car can anyone assist me with obtaining one? I would pay you for using it if that would help, or even if you can help me take it out that would help too!
Thank you.
ouch. have fun.
good luck
the chances of you doing that with piano wire are ZERO.
Its not going to happen. I tried. You need a tool to cut it out or you can do the smart thing and give windshield tech $20 to do it for you instead of paying $30 for the tool.
i did it with a guitar string. it worked relatively well. just move slowly.
I dont know what kind of sealer was on your glass but the Mustang Urethane is tough as shit.

Piano wire is how i removed the OEM glass from the BMW. You need to try harder next time.
I’d buy the tool. I’ve used piano wire, and the tool. It’s an easy 1 person job if you use the tool ( the cutting part). Having extra tools is never a bad thing.

what tool is this?
yea i used piano wire to remove the windshield on my 1st 240, it had some cracks before hand, near the edge, which did get worse when i removed it but not much. just take ur time doing it, im pretty sure mine woulda been fine if it wasnt previously cracked
ive used a piano wire too, worked fine for me. newman, you gotta put the guitar string thing in the ALL THAT IS MAN thread.
just take the hood pop cable off the parts car, works the best and its free
thats what we used at the chop shop
