sadly…i own a V1…but it wont do you any good trraveling from buffalo to NYC on the I-90. All the troopers use LASER which defeats the purpose of the radar dectector…becuase when they shoot ya, its all over you have no chance of slowing down.

With owning my 8500 x50 troopers constantly use Ka band, I have been traveling from Geneva to Rochester to Rochester to Buffalo, Niagara Falls a few times a few in the past month. Have not gotten pegged with Laser Once. I cruise at about 90 and have always had time to slow down to 70.
- if they’re shooting laser at a group of cars around you, you’re going to pick up on it from someone ahead of you getting shot - given that you’re not absolutely flying
i mean if it’s just you by yourself cruising at 110, well, different story :touchy:

Doesn’t matter what radar you got…driving alert will help you. Speed if there are people a head of you…not when it’s only you on the highway. If the trooper use instant on you…there is no way you can stop in time 
The radar can picks up the signal if the trooper hit someone infront of you.

Yup, I know. Always speed in packs and watch for people braking suddenly in front of you.
put a lot of wax on your car so that the radar bounces of it,
being that your car is black the radar should def. bounce off your car and blind the trooper

ill warn you, every day i go from buffalo to roch and i encounter at least 4-8 troopers most of which are either hiding and using laser or are using KA radar like crazy. Be careful, they are getting trickey. I had one trooper laser me from hiding pulled off at a rest stop, didnt see that one coming at all.
Well you always slow down by the rest stops. Has anyone seen them sitting off the side of the road in the trees? I always see them around leroy in the center median behind trees, I just wait for the Ka band to come up, it always does.
WE should make a sticky thread on where cops sit on the thruway either east or west bound, what mile marker or near a specific road, etc. And whether in the center or off the side of the road. And what time of day.
