just go the clutch out to ship it to ACT and check out what i found-keep in mind clutch has 4k on it and car has never been launched hard or even really in boost for that matter. any thoughts?
Looks like the throw out bearing wasnt playing nice… Could be due to improper clutch pedal adjustment?? :gotme:
Not sure what the hell the fingers would be rubbing on underneath there… maybe a bolt that was sticking out too far??
EDIT: oops… just noticed the broken disk… looks like something was out o whack.
EDIT2: maybe the fingers were being depressed too far… colliding with the clutch disk… wearing out that one point on the disk… causing chaos with the throwout bearing and ultimately leading to the failure of the disk itself.
i dont know how what were or who, but that clutch looks real beat up, you better hope they change it, they might just blame you on damage like comp always do.
DSM?
I know this may sound redic, but did you have the clutch disc installed the correct way? (actually I just looked at the pics again, it looks like it wouldn’t have a prayer or fitting the wrong way.)
Anyhow, I highly agree with ninjas quote…perhaps they sent you the wrong throw out bearing and it had a lot more depth to it than it should have.
Did it act funney at all?
Same thing happened to me with the disc…except my fingers are fine, just worn a little from the spring bouncing around in there on the ride home.
ACT spring discs suck. I am using a NAPA disc with the ACT pressure plate and it is a great combo. Also, did you make sure to install that thin spacer in between the tranny and block? That causes pressure plate issues like that all the time.
