This type s is blue.
fight it
i fought a ticket that i got for doing 90 in a 50, 360 bucks and 4 points
it got reduced to 0 points and 60 bucks
if u catch em on a good day, they might take it easy on ya.
The points don’t matter. I have a ticket for going 55 in a 50, and I talked to my insurance comapny and they said a ticket is a ticket. THere are some excpetions, like if it’s bad enough to be criminal then they’ll cancel your policy, but basically it doesn’t matter.
Some companies may distinguish between major and minor speeding, than that is 45km/h over or less is minor, more than 45 in major.
Demerit points do NOT affect insurance. It is only for your licnese.
Well if i didnt have my crash just over 2 yers ago and i lost 6 pionts and a big ticket, my insurance would be cheeper, buy like $20 a month.
Are you on crack?
Every demerit point you get is about 10-15% increase on your monthly insurance premium. It’s all up to the insurance company and by how much they want to increase the premium. Also, some insurance comapnies let your first ticket slide… and give you another chance, but that’s only if have a squeeky clean record for the past few years…

no, no its true, insurance companies group offences regardless of points into varying degrees of risk.
Insurance companies can charge more for; a fail to have Ins. slip tickets, which carry no points
should i fight a 15km ticket? cop said no points and doesnt raise insurance. he reduced it from 180 to 115 , lucky me. or it can’t get any better then that?
Fight ever ticket you get!
What do you have to lose?
It shouldnt even cross your mind to just pay it off.
That’s great! cuz you blew by me at full speed twice so far, I guess they just never catch you!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA it will my friend. it will.

I’m not on crack, it’s exactly what the person from the insurance told me when I asked that specific question. Did you actually ask someone at your company and they told you demerit points matter or why do you think they do ?
Bog = owned :oops: :oops:
The cop lied. If my 55 in a 50 increased insurance then surely your 115 in a 100 will. However, it’s up to you about fighting it. I didn’t fight my 55 in a 50 ticket since it was already reduced from 87 in a 50, so I didn’t want to be an asshole and take the cop to court after he already saved my ass from a fat fine and lots of points.

yes. If they say they don’t matter, they are lying because they adjust your policy acordingly depending on the offense you make, how many tickets you have, how many demerit points you have and of course they set a limit for you when they want to cut you off and not insure you any more. i.e what your age is, license status g1/g2/g/a/e/z etc…
You want to really know how insurance adjusts your premium, just talk to my mom. She’s been doing it for a while now.
edit: Insurance companies DO group offenses… but if you have a terrible driving record, they will go through ever single offense you made in the past 6 years or more and charge you for it. Why? Because they can and they want to make money off you. It’s simple as that.
Okay if what you’re saying is true, then WHY is it that when you get a quote online, for tickets, they just ask what kind of ticket.
So for my ticket, I didn’t put “speeding, 55 in a 50”
It was just either “speeding” or “speeding 45km/h over or less”.
From that they CANNOT judge how many demerit points you have since they dont know exactly what the ticket was for…
And since the quote you get online is exactly what you pay monthly, guaranteed, then it’s fair to conclude that they do NOT take demerit points into account since they can’t tell how many you have from the information you provided.
Sir you need to learn how to spell. Furthermore, arguing with a police officer just results in more tickets. Believe me they can nail you for anything they don’t see fit. So shut-up, be polite and receive your ticket. You’ll get your day in court.
Also, if you drive around with a loud exhaust, what do you expect.
And you 4 point ticket will effect your insurance once you renew.
Andrew.
Yeah, your rates won’t change unitl they are readjusted.
This is how some people keep dodging the bullet by switching insurance companies immediately after every offence.
You’re locked in at that rate for up to 6 months. Accidents are different though, as your insurance company is actually notified.
BlitzSix, yours probably went up because you told your agent you got a ticket. For the most part no points = no increase.
Although I don’t know that for sure.
That whole “only stays on your record for 3 years” is also bullshit in a sense.
Driver’s abstracts are available for only a 3-year period. There is a 5-year abstract available, but only to you. Everything stays on your record for the police, just your insurance company can’t access the information anymore.
But if 5 years ago you got pulled over for doing 200km/h (which would make most of you what … 13?) when the cop pulls you over and checks your license, he’ll know about it.
Gotta love CPEC
According to a Super Street issue the upper limit for exhaust is 95dB. thats only for the states though, but i figure if its good enough for the americans its probably good enough for us too.
I beleve the want lower like 86DB or somethingh
California has the 95dB rule… most of the states don’t have any kind of regulations regarding the loudness of an exhaust system. AFAIK, ontario has no regulation as well… at least no definite dB rating
yea, i know about cali’s 95dB rating, but if canada has no definite rating, then how can they give tickets if they have no standard by which to measure the noise level required to merit issuing a ticket? it doesn’t make any sense, unless it’s purely a cash-grab.
i’ll do some poking around the next couple of days and try to find out. if there’s nothing specifically stated in the HTA, maybe i can find an upper dB rating by which the gov’t considers being “excessive noise” and base my defense on that. we’ll see.
thanks for all the advice.
They do it on purpose to fuck you over. If there’s nothing that says what the limit is, it lets them do whatever they want and you can’t do anything about it since it’s 100% up to their discretion.
