so i think i finally decided to get the kids a xbox 360 rather than a ps3. there is a xbox 360 arcade bundle out now with 5 games and a memory card for 279. i’m told the only difference between the arcade and the other 360 is just the hard drive/memory and the hard drive is really only needed for the x box live crap and down loading movies and playing the old xbox games.
is that correct?
he only thing it will be used for is playing motorcyle, car, and a few sports games. so the memory card should be plenty.
right?
i’m also told the actual console are all the same so all i would have to do later if i wanted would be add a hard drive and it would be the same as the others?
here is what i’m looking at and it says it has the xbox live deal.
correct, as far as i know. youll still have to buy controllers though. the wireless are somewhat expensive, but if you get 2 wire controllers it wont be too bad. for what you are gonna do with the xbox, i’d say thats a good deal to get the arcade setup.
arcade is the way to go for someone kids atleast. I picked up the Elite, and bought my bro the Premium system, but i’m lazy and like being able to turn my console on and off with my wireless controller.
If you’re not getting live, then theres really no reason for the more expensive consoles
that’s what i’m told. i’m not really into online gameplay so i won’t be doing it. the memory cards don’t bother me. the ps2 is fime so this is basicallyt like a ps2 with new generation graphics.
the arcade model has the wireless controller too. the only things it doesn’t have that the more $ ones do is the hdmi cable(we don’t have a hd tv) and the network cable and headset
i have a coupon for half off a game if i buy the arcade model at toys r us. and the arcade comes with 5 games. i know the kids will play all of them, but the premium model for 349 comes with forza and one other game which forza is one of the games we would end up getting. i guess i’ll decide when i go to get it tommorow or sat.
oh it does come with a wireless controller? i didnt think it did. thats a bonus then, cause they are sweet. ya, goahead and get that then, it should be good. plus u can always buy the HD later on down the line if u decide you have to have it.
You get two extra batteries, the charger base, and a charge and play cable. I got mine in the store for $29.95.
And my son is a big gamer, and the hard drive rarely gets used. Save the cash and get an extra game or two. I had found a link last year, when I was buying his, that you could adapt a computer hd into the 360. And they are dirt cheap compared to 360 HD. I will check my favorites later and see if I still have it. (if you are interested)
