haha
i played one yesterday for 4 hours…
it had been on non-stop since tuesday @ 9am
Because Sony is the worst company when it comes to NOT learning from their mistakes, I have a sneaking suspicion that the PS3 will have even more troubles than the 360 at launch. Not that I hate Sony, just their notorious for rushing AND cheaping out on important aspects. Time will tell.
played mine 3 hrs straight 2 times, no probs

More bad news for M$…
I don’t that this is a big deal since the number of unit affected is so small. What M$ shoud do is fix the units ASAP for the customers who bought the system on launch day. More problems will probably come up oh well. For everyone who bought a first en machine I am sure someone will have hacks / mods out soon.
havent played yet, i really cant see spending that amount of money on a game system. i got my xbox used for 130 with a remte and 2 games :gotme: corse now it barly playes anything, but its old and needs to be cleaned.
It may not seem like a big deal to you… but trust me, Bill Gates is shitting his pants right now. He didn’t get his perfect launch that he was hoping for. Obviously most launch systems have problems… but they are always a big deal since it can tarnish the launch itself.
Very true, they always expect some prioblems with launch models, problems always arise that they have not forseen, but for a launch of a product such as this which is the most poerfull gaming platform on earth right now…id say oh shit too if somthing goes wrong. Although i dont think it will defer people from purchasing it in the furture.
The biggest problem is that this is getting blown out of proportion by the few that had problems. I know someone that got a bad one. What did he do… go back the next day to EB and get it replaced (luckily they had a few that hadn’t been picked up yet). I realize that not everyone will be able to do the same. But expecting there to be NO problems for a launch is just as stupid as bidding on a 360 on eBay without carefully reading the description.
None of these reports surprise me, and none of them have done anything to weaken my desire to pick up a system when I have the time/money.
 to this entire situation.
:word: I am also sure this will be deja vu when the PS3 is launched… I’ll have my “I told you so” sign ready as I am sure will you, Andy.
Sony has been getting better at customer service and their warranties over the years. I would not feel bad about buying a PS3 off launch, As long as that warranty does not “accidentally” become void :snky:
15% is small? That’s more than one in ten defective. That’s getting close to the Commodore 64 level of defect notoriety. I don’t remember what the initial percentage of defects were on the PS2 when it came out because I was a late adopter on that platform, but this is a truly serious problem.
I will never buy a game console for over $200. I rather wait until all issues are solved and price goes down
XBox 360 Service pack 2 anyone?
Who would have thought that the website www.everytenminutes.com would be used as a contest to win an XBox 360, and now it can be used to highlight a defect
:word: I agree with both of you 100%
 They got themselves on that one for sure.
15% is high… and I bet it would be high if 1/2 the 360s sold weren’t still in their boxes… or wrapped for christmas.
At least it’s an easy fix… lol. Just pick the over sized power supply up off the floor so air can circulate around it better. I think it’s kind of funny that this issue has arose. Microsoft took the power supply out of the system itself so wasn’t as bulky as the first xbox and now the damn thing is overheating. I’m not overly surprised though… the size of that thing is crazy.
