Attention to all that have recently bought an Xbox 360, Do not use this system standing vertical, if any movement is made to the system while a disc is spinning, you will hear a grinding sound and that is the outer edge of the disc being severely scratched. When it tries to read that portion of the disc it will crash.

I found this out while at the Game Crazy at transit and loson, my friend who works there moved it for a second and it tore the edges up on one of their demo discs, they also received a call from one of their customers because his copy of perfect dark was scratched the same way. Luckily a disc buffing repaired the customers game back to new.

Protect your games by playing the system on its side and not vertical.

so, the system will always do that if you turn it vertical?

you can use it vertical but if it gets jostled or tilted in anyway, there is a good chance you will ruin your disc.

HAHA!!! Same thing happened with the PS2s. I was a little surprised that M$ opted for the whole flat/vertical option… never quite understood that. :gotme:

The only system I’ll put vertically is the new slim PS2, only because its a spindle lock system as opposed to a try load.

What game store do you work at Minglor? Just curious cause I used to manage one of the EBs in the area.

My snes is also playable vertically and has better games, hmmm is snes > Xbox 360 , tough call
