Exhaust is actually quieter with top down. So is wind noise too lol. It’s weird

+1 on the wind noise lol

60 degrees out damn, freezing my sack off at 30 lol, I love the Hondas you build, can’t wait to see this with a turdblow!

Love the windscreen as well. prevents the air from going over the windshield to the trunk then rapping back through the middle of the two seats. it brings the air from your mid section to your head. Very enjoyable ride with the top down even in 50 degree weather with heat on in the fall. The heat is absolutely amazing in these!

Hondas have the best heat. I remember all of my cb7 accord would hurt if you put your hand close to the vent on high

Nice pick up Saxon, i’ve always liked the S2k’s… especially boosted

thanks Jimmy!

getting the front painted soon, then stereo, then a little more power

currently my tsx feels faster until 6,000 rpm lol

well the first update is about getting the exterior in “like new” condition. instead of buying a new front bumper and lip ($500) i am saving the original vin matching bumper. i am pretty anal about keeping cars original panels and i want the paint to be near perfect. so the plan is to do as much prep work as possible and take the fenders, hood, front bumper and lip to the paint shop. i want them to paint the front bumper, fix any chips in the hood/fenders and blend the paint halfway up the hood/fenders to blend in with the oem paint

the paint on the bumper was 20/20… it looked good from 20 ft away and going 20mph lol

this is pretty much how the whole bumper looked, im pretty sure the dealer had a mobile paint guy come and spray the whole front bumper/lip at once. even the black weather stripping between the lip and bumper were painted red

it looks like the bumper was painted twice since new, and its had better days

good thing your car isn’t silverstone like mine. there’s like 6 different shades and it’s impossible to match lol

ya red isnt easy to match either, which is why im having it blended halfway up the fenders and hood so that only a trained eye will actually be able to tell the difference

Blending paint is a bitch. Any color is a difficult task. You can have 15+ different combinations just for white, or another 15+ for red. Just priming the car can alter the way it looks in the end. White primer to a dark primer with the paint laying on over that will change up the actual finish. Not a hell of a lot, but it has effects. It takes good knowledge on knowing how to paint and blend and mix paint. Usually its a very smart idea if you are going to paint it yourself to do a practice panel. Tape 4 or 5 different sections on a piece of flat plastic, sheet metal… then mix the paints with different amounds needed in the mixture. Remember how you mixed and how much you used… spray and let dry. match that to car itself and use that mixture. Keep in mind, stock color will never be the same as a prepainted spot unless blended right. Weathering will have definitely altered the original paint.

i meant more so my color goes from how it looks in my sig, to almost graphite. and i have seen other silverstones stay the same, and some look sebring. and this is all in the same lighting. from the same year. my front bumper needs to be repainted but im not even going to try and bother

yup, it’s why most shops try to blend so far down the car and not just “match a bumper”

correct, which is what i plan on doing, it will also take care of any rock chips in the front end while im at it

recieved a quote for $1,100 to paint bumper hood and fenders blending halfway up the fenders/hood. that is with me taking the panels to the shop so they wont have to tape anything but the underside of the hood ( i want it done this way so no tape marks/overspray dust etc)

does this sound like a fair price or should i keep shopping?

Talk to andy at Zeon… I’ll pass this thread off to him. Hes very good at what he does and I’m sure people on here can back him up. Hopefully he can be of some help.

IMHO $1100 should be with you dropping the car off and picking it up when done. more like $700 if you’re doing all the labor minus paint.

i wouldnt be sanding the hood/fenders and i am just buying a new bumper as i HATE sanding … bodywork is just not for me
