OOOUCH! Does your insurance company cover this?
that really sucks
The guy took off kinda bad and/or late, I’m guessing it was his first time at the track. Also it sounded like the anouncer said this was one of them “new” corvettes? :gotme:
X…
Yes, insurance companies can and do insure vehicles in race environments.
I swear, it was a hit and run with a baby blue car!
On another note, I’ve been to that 1/8 mile strip. While the walls are closer than at NYIRP I still cannot see how he did that.
doesnt look like the dude even tried to turn into the slide to straighten the car out at all…in the slow motion replay right after the real time hit, you can see the front wheels still turned to the right, like he never even turned left to try to correct the slide…
sucks for him though, that’s why i stay on the street :bloated:
considering track racing is so much more safer than street racing in a sense. He may have hit a wet or oily spot, it can happen on teh streets more often since they are never cleaned up from cars that leak.
hence the :bloated: in my post…because ya know, i had to be dead serious in saying what i said…
the camaro would have killed him i would have done the same thing LMAO
ouch
 why did he spid out like that?
the most likley answer. and he fucked up by braking AND turning right … shit turn left take your foot off the gas. at least the damage was minimial from what i can see
That guy is a moron. If you listen close he is bouncing off the rev limiter becasue he is losing traction. So instead of peddling it, he stayed in the throttle and then hits the brakes ONLY after he yaws about 30 degrees. I used to drive 2wd f-150(4 speed manual, straight 6 and open diff) in the snow delivering pizzas and anytime you lost traction and started yawing all you had to do was back off just a little and get back into it. Hitting brakes would only compound the issue. This is a simple case of not learning to drive a rag tag POS to its limits before you get into a big boy car. I am glad he crashed. Just think of what he would have done in the streets if he didnt learn and expensive and humbling lesson on a drag strip.
oh and another situation where AYC (active yaw control) ownz
Aside from the glad he crashed part, I agree 100%. I noticed that right away he kit the brakes wich is the worst thing you can do. He can’t drive worth a shit.
naaaa u gotta keep the foot to the floor and hope it comes around
my bad
keep it on the streets kidsssssssssssss
Oil or not, there was some wrong moves made there in an attempt to correct it. Depends on the situation though. Judging by the launch ,and hitthing the brakes when it started to slide definatly some inexperience there. But it’s impossible to tell when you aren’t the one there for it.
Haha.
