This is my gf’s car, it’s a stupid issue but it’s a pain in my ass because now shes driving my winter beater too. It doesn’t happen all the time, but its happening more frequently now. as soon as the pushes the clutch pedal down, the car dies. She is going to have the coilpack recall taken care of tuesday, possible that this problem is related? Anyone ever head of this issue before? the car only has 33k miles
Idle air control valve? I had this issue on my audi. usually could be fixed by cleaning it out. Does it start normal?
it will start and run fine, this issue was intermittent, today she drove from our home (auburn) to Rochester and it happened 9 times, it does and she can start it right back up.
This is why I hate VW’s and love warranties. Make sure you don’t let the dealer dick you around until she’s over her warranty.
That’s really weird that the car dies just by kicking the clutch pedal. Maybe it’s as simple as an IACV, but it sounds like this thing’s dying just changing gears. My money’s on a bad sensor or computer.
it is definitely weird, we took it t myrtle over the summer without any issues, and it will run and drive fine despite this problem, no power loss, no weird noises, vibrations, or stuttering, your driving, you push the clutch in and it just dies, but starts right back up and runs fine immediately after.
she wondered why I was displeased when she traded in her 06 si for this car…
Something with the security system and the clutch interlock?
Oof. Sorry for you loss man.
Shes going in this upcoming tuesday for the coilpack recall to be done, shes going to bring it up and see what they say. I’m sure they will BS her, so hopefully she sticks to her guns and does that woman attitude thing
I’m with b5a4, check the IACV. Next time this happens and the car is still moving, “bump” it by releasing the clutch for a split second and giving it a little gas. If it fires and revs until you get off the the gas, your IACV is stuck closed.
