How can prisoners at GITMO get trials in US courts for crimes comitted overseas, in a time of war, and they have never set foot on US soil.

So, they decided under their own free will to cross his land illegally, and he treated them unfairly. It never would have happened if they just stayed home.

I don’t see a problem with what he did. I see a problem with the decisions of the people, which could have easily been avoided by their own doing.
This just reminds me of the McDonalds hot coffee accident which made someone rich. If you don’t want a burned crotch, don’t hold coffee between your legs. Coffee is known to be hot be everyone on the planet (labeled or not) and if you spill it on yourself, only one person is to blame… YOU.

That is absolutely ridiculous that he is forced to pay- even if it is “only” 78,000. People have no right to trespass on private property and anything that happens after they do so; the owner should not be held responsible.

Why? I think you should be able to shoot them. Maybe getting a ticket for shooting within 500 feet of a road or structure would be issued though.
