only 90s german cars that had Anything going for them compared to the 90s japanese muscle were the Porsche turbo cars. mercedes didnt have much then, the 190E 2.3 Cosworth, again track car, only country in competition then with the japanese cars were the italians with the f40s and f50s, and the diablos from lamborghini( as far as what was available in america, audi RS2 never came here, doesnt count) you could argue the RUF cars but they were very limited… the E30 on the track compared to them yes, but 1 out of 10people on shift do any sanctioned road racing so its about straight line performance in this thread. japan dominated the performance car market then, and are doing a great job still today>// from the german guy with german car( and a toyota for reliability and daily drivability :ninja)
:lol
its an RS2, its a bad ass car. whats wrong with using one of those as an example
It’s a station wagon…?
avant, but its badass. its the predecessor to the RS4, RS6 series cars out now. They used that platform for rally as well. Its a kick ass car, who cares if its a wagon. STI wagons and EVO wagons still haul ass.
Pretty sure they were never made…
Or faster than you think? :confused
Either way, cool car is opinion but weird comparison is near fact.
Its NOT a DSM
I think Vlad put that in.
Someone called the 3S a DSM.
have you ever seen one?
has any one on the board ever seen one?
a concept sitting at auto doesn’t count
some ppl say that 3000gt and EVOs are accepted as DSM’s, other totally deny. Thats a debate that doesnt seem to go away.
thats a production vehicle. the 2 door evo wasnt a production car, but theres a few knockin around
edit: I give up
correct. we didnt get the STI wagon here either. its no fair, damnit! i actually wanted to get one when i found out that Mitsubishi has the wagon version, but then i read that its not comin here and i got upset.
i didnt know if were doing US released vehicles only. i figured if it a production car, its a go
I don’t think we were really… not sure
maybe I’m bitter since thats the ugliest evo I’ve ever seen and rather it get forgotten about real quick.
“DSMs” relates to a specific facility where chrysler and mitsu joined forces to build cars.
“Initially, three models were produced at this facility. The Mitsubishi Eclipse, Plymouth Laser and Eagle Talon were smaller 2+2 sports cars on a new co-designed platform. Models subsequently produced during the next decade included the Mitsubishi Mirage/Eagle Summit, the Mitsubishi Galant, the Dodge Avenger/Chrysler Sebring, and the Dodge Stratus.”
3gt and EVOs are NOT DSMs. My shit was made in Japan!
yea, i know. i dont think that evos and 3kgts are DSM, but ive talked to some ppl that just insist on it.
so, guys are we comparing cars ONLY made for the US market or do ones for Japan only count as well?
