Sunday is my only day off between the two jobs And never ending side work.
I put the new carb in and still nothing.
I popped the valve cover and timing marks are good but the timing chain tensioner is not working and i think its missing pieces. The chain has about an inch of slack and the exhaust cam I can move with my hand an 1/8 turn do to the slack. So that def is a problem. I took the tensioner bolt out of the side of the block and didnt see a spring or shaft or anything. I stuck a screw driver in there and tightened the chain. Now I cant find a tensioner online to buy. This thing is killing me.
Compression? Leakdown? Is it getting fuel with the new carb? Have you tried starting fluid or little gas in the sparkplug hole to see if it will even fart?
have to fix the timing chain and tensioner before a leak down.
Not really, get the piston to TDCC And leak down that bitch. You will be holding the crank so it doesn’t so the cams don’t spin.
Are you getting fuel to the carb?
before I do anything I need to fix the timing chain. w out that, nothing else matters
Upon further review. You have a hydraulic cam. Chain tensioner in that. Replace it with a manual adjuster.
I agree. Help me find one. I couldnt find a rob woods and the ones on ebay dont look remotely close to the plug I took out.
