2006 Z06 runs 12.03 @ 123.9

aww fuck it…

i think tjz28 would disagree. But the new Cobra is a hell of a bang for your buck.

wow and to think that came out of YOUR mouth

It be cool if the Cobra was $25K new instead of $35K, but theres something to be said for 350 at the wheels stock, with a few hundred more available for around a grand.

if u r inferring that a STOCK F-body is anywhere close to being as good of a handling car as a C5, then u and tjz28 r sadly mistaken. i’ll take a C4 over an F-body for any racing that requires good handling. i’m saying engine-wise the Fbody is awesome per dollar. but if u want to go all-arund performance at all levels, i think that F-bodies r too bulky, heavy, and innacurate handlers to be considered for what i’m talkin about.

$70,000 is insane for that car…

  1. Its a chevy
  2. its a chevy
  3. its still a chevy, sorry… but putting HID’s, 19 inch wheels and trimming down the wheelbase doesnt make it an exotic.

How is $70k insane for that car? The Viper sells fine at $85k, and the new Z06 should beat it in just about every way. What makes a car exotic? Does it have to be sold at a snobby dealership. Maybe they should just put a prancing horse, a coat of arms or a spinning propeller so that people think it’s an “exotic”. I’m not saying the Z06 is an “exotic” car, but you’re not going to see many of them, and it will be able to hang with the true exotics.

:itr41:

i’d say its a little more in-depth than that. horsepower, weight, handling, power-to-weight. u think that might play a part at any point??

Not as long as its wearing a bowtie…

My car is faster, lighter and probably handles better. And more than likely has a better power to weight ratio. Does that mean its worth $70,000?

Is your car brand new, have higher structural rigidity, extensive high speed testing, the same level of safety, production car reliability, a warranty and most importantly the same level of drivability? I want to see your car outrun a Z06 at BeaveRun. You have a nice car, but come on.

I’ll bet the 240 could stick it to a Z06 pretty good at BeaverRun. 2600lbs = win.

It isn’t that hard to see why the new Z06 cost what it does. Think about all the R&D dollars that went into it. Think about what kind of cars it can compete with. I am not saying i would fork over that much but I can understand. BTW I would prob take a new Z06 over a Viper. I could care less is the average person could tell the difference. I love how that car looks and performs and could care less what other people think.

Anyways back ontopic…that thing is so sick. I def. could see that thing well into the 11’s. Quater mile is cool and all but that thing has to be so sick on a road course, considering thats what it was made for.

mine did 377hp stock

what about the lightweight aluminum frame (something the regular C6 does not have). Or the 7.0L 427ci engine, that out runs pretty much all exotics?

So what if it’s a Chevy. Ferrari said the same thing about the GT40 and Ford back in the 60’s, and look what happend… Ferrari said the same thing about the GT this year, and looks whose faster.

worthless without pics! :bsflag:

I’m sorry, your 240, is beautiful and all, but I’ve seen test specs of the Z06’s handling, I don’t think you’ll come close to it, no offense.

I guess, since it’s my cobra, its a slug, since pretty much every single 03-04 cobra owner out there has put down 365-385rwhp bone stock

the 03/04 Cobra was grossly underrated at 390hp. It is actually doing about 430hp at the fly
