2009 Taxes Thread

If the H&R one is close, I will get more back than I paid in.
yay America.

I’m getting a nice chunk back thanks to installing a new furnace a few months back.

Shitty M&T has not sent me the info I need to file my taxes yet. GOOOOO M&T!!! FML

update:

1219 federal
240 state

pretty close to the average of $1500 total

lol,I claim the lowest possible.Filed them last night and i’m geting $500 Federal and $1 from NY.LOL and I had to pay to file the state taxes on turbotax.

Preliminary is $11500 Federal thanks to various stimulus programs :tspry:
OBAMA PRESIDENT NOW

I am getting a little over 1/6 of my taxible income back this year. I was shocked. Earned income tax credit doubled my fed return

maybe i’lll just stay poor and drive hondas forever… Prob not.

Neat I owe money

Joe, care to name which stimulus packages?

I just filed mine and getting a decent amount back but my student loan interest is the big one that builds me up. I also loved the Making Work Pay credit this year for $400 for simply having a job and paying taxes. Lol.

$8000 for first time homebuyer, $1500 toward the energy star roof I put on, and $400 for making work pay

Wait what? You are taking tax breaks? What kind of Democrat are you? You should happily pay your taxes and not ask for any breaks. Think of the poor people that could be fed with your money. You are evil and selfish.

Hey, Obama authorized middle-class tax breaks are OK. If the rich can get their millions off the Bush cap gains tax cut, I’ll take my few thousand :stuck_out_tongue:

yep, definitely getting back 10k+

nice

jesus i wish i bought a house

yeah, the deduction for mortgage interest paid rocks. My taxes aren’t THAT high, but it definitely helps.

Most of that is just the $8k for the first-time homebuyer’s credit.

I have already dumped the money into the house, so this stuff will pay-off the new kitchen that is sitting on my credit card. Anything left over will go into the fund for adding on a garage.

making work pay credit? wtf is that?

I wondered the same thing, but it got me another $400… Im not complaining

$3k+ back cause of the education packages
