$2600 thanks to education and making work pay
All of the Obama haters, I’d be more than happy to take your $400 off your hands since you hate the guy so much
thanks to the new home purchase and all the updating that comes with it, the kids, the loans, and a couple other add ins I should see at least 16k. Time to inject some m50 into the kaiser kart.
sure, if you give us the “stimulus” back the bush put out!
Bush was the bank bailout. Obama was the stimulus. I’m not a bank, so he didn’t help me. If you’re talking about the $600in 08, I got fucked on that because I was still a college student the year before.
ah, touche!
I also got boned and did not receive that $600 due to being a dependent on my parent’s taxes. arg.
Yeah, that one was really poorly designed. If you were 21+ and a dependent, your parents didn’t get to claim you and you didn’t get to claim yourself, you basically fell through the cracks
I was pissed. College students usually get screwed even if youre paying for college yourself.
Only if someone is listing you as a dependent. Which in that case you really can’t complain because you probably don’t have many bills.
…Or you just didn’t want to pay out of pocket for your health insurance…
Anyone have any more to add to the whole tax break for new car purchases in 09? anyone that has filed already? Im still awaiting the wifes W2 but we did purchase a new limited Edge in 09. I guess I will just wait another week and see what TurboTax tells me
Just an additional point to mention regarding the First Time Homebuyer Credit.
The IRS is requiring those filing the FTHB Credit Form 5405, not only do you have to include a copy of the HUD-1 but you CANNOT EFILE. You can only paper file.
They won’t even begin processing returns with the FTHB Credit on them until mid-February with the earliest refunds expected in mid to late March.
I have already seen some returns get kicked back requesting additional documentation for proof that the home is a primary residence as well.
Or just dont have health insurance haha
Only thing I don’t pay for is rent and was claimed by my mom all these years and I only would get 2-300 back from fed, and would always owe state. First year I claim myself I get $3k back. Over 4 years thats $12k I could have put towards school which is over 30% of my loans. Private school FTL.
670 back federal, owe 160 to state.
I shoot for breaking even so not bad. I’d much rather have my money in my paycheck all year long.
Does the new car thing qualify on just brand new cars, or any car that you’ve purchased?
Yay, for marriage penalty and owing couple k to uncle Sam
new cars only afaik
i usually get around $900 back… this year $2k+. SAAAAWWEEEEET.
My refund gets deposited on Friday. WOO hoo!:run:
