mine too. cant wait for friday!
Fuck… I still only have like 50% of my tax documents how are you all getting refunds already?
I have no W2, only my last check; no 401k statement, a couple of 1099’s and some other things that are not in yet.
Same deal here. I’m assuming the majority of these people have 1040EZ type returns.
Cheap and easy. I had to pull out all of my tax returns the other day, and it is cool to see how they just keep getting thicker and thicker like a tree as it ages.
Can you smart tax people make a nice little list of forms that I need to gather before hammering out my taxes? I do not know what all I am supposed to wait for.
I know all my forms i need so I just went online into my accounts and got the info but have been at my house in Rochester for the past 2 weeks.
I also take the standard deductions since I have one W2, one savings account, one investing account, no house, and no wife or kids so its pretty easy for me to file.
EDIT: I typed a bunch of shit but just look at this list as it’s fairly comprehensive.

Do all of the E-file places make you pay for state? And does anyone think one is more accurate than another?
any one know what I need for claiming my energy star windows I had installed in Nov?
THANKS!
receipts in case you get audited…you get 30% up to $1500
Haha that all depends on what you have your money involved in ie. house, student loans, jobs, 401k investments, stock earnings, moving expenses/job expenses, purchases, etc.
I have one job, no house, student loans, savings account that earns interest, I did not pull out any money from my stocks, and no 401k through my company so I needed:
My W2
Student loan interest paid information (online through the site)
Interest earned on my savings account (1099 from the bank)
I think taxslayer.com is free for NY, used it last year and liked it
Should I be expecting some sort of form from NYS showing unemployment benefits paid?
yes
Yep one w2 for me. Interest on my loans for school. Rent.
Seriously. I just counted 8 tax documents I need and I probably forgot some. My W2, wife’s W2, 4 student loans, mortgage, brokerage…
Rent?
I’m getting back around 2500.
Sorry I was stating no morgage. I only rent. I only had to wait for 2 docs for my taxes
Still waiting on my 1098-T from school.
Still waiting on my 1099-INT from le bank.
I have my W2, 1099-DIV, and 401K statements.
God dammit I want my money!
