I’m going to go and see if I can find a pair of gloves I like; it’s the only thing I need this year. Maybe find a setup for my girl.

i just bought new ski’s … do i have to get them waxed or something? can i do it myself?
Just booked a trip to Tahoe for 1/27-1/31. Riding at Heavenly, NorthStar, and Sierra.
new skis should be ready to go… think i just need new boot laces… anyone try waxed hockey laces?
If you bought them new/used at a shop, they should’ve taken care of that before they gave them to you. If you got them used from a show or private party, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to take them to a shop for a quick tuneup (Grind & wax).
You can wax your own skis if you have the equipment; and the equipment is <$20 to do it. There’s plenty of info online of how to do this. The grinding of the edges is best left to someone who knows what they’re doing and has the right equipment.
Personally, I wax my board about every 3-4 times out, and take a file to clean up any damaged/dinged spots on the edges. I got my board last year and haven’t gotten it ground yet (don’t plan to for a while either), but I don’t play in the park. Edges should only be ground if they’re in really dull/rough shape otherwise its just a waste of material.
