You 5 speed guys… it’s all about the trap lol.
Just checking out this build, looks like your car should move pretty good

thanks joe and JD. on my old motor i was skeptical of going 150, i wouldve said probably a 145-147 car. this motor however is a different story, it has all the bells and whistles you could imagine and already has gone 158.
im hoping/predict the car should go low 150’s once i get it right, but my time at the track will be very limited as i still dont want to put a cage in the car. i will just do 1/8th mile passes then hit the brakes till i get the car the way i want it before i stay in it for the full 1320. once i see my 1/8th ET’s and MPH’s ill be able to judge off of that
That’s because your project is custom and unique and not just a pile of money thrown at a car without any real skill.
Put a damn cage in it already geez. They are going to be way more strict this year with tech inspection. They have already let people know.
+1 for the cage.
There is probably a whole list of other stuff you will also need for tech lol
cage,
belts,
jacket,
do these cars run driveshaft loops?,
etc…
Tranny shield
master cutoff
SFI 29.1 flexplate
From a number of people I talked to I have a feeling its going to be an interesting year a NYIRP for tech
At this point you should really consider putting safety equipment in the car regardless of whatever sanctioning body requires it. It doesn’t take much to lose control at the track even making 1/8th mile passes.
People on this forum haven’t had any really bad luck yet with this sort of thing but it definitely happens all it takes is a 1 tire to blow out.
My car had a driveshaft loop, and I know Emery has one. It’s definitely needed at high traps or fast times.

They can definitely still boot you for too fast of an 1/8th mph or ET.
I agree on cage.
i know of all the risks and what not involved with what i need. we will see what happens at the track when i go, if i get booted, oh well. i will probably get bored then figure out what im going to do, it will probably be on next years to do winter project. i will do the whole cage myself, as there is no pre-fabbed kit for these cars and i would want the cage tucked very very well to what i want
Just buy my IX shell, and swap all of your stuff into it
I like that idea, return the yellow one to stock and sell it.
note to self: check little stupid things, like a vac line! my FPR line was pinched between my intake manifold and my ABS line, doh! car fired right up. i changed some things around in the tune throughout the fuel/timing maps to get the car idling a little better, right now its idling at 1045 and the AFR’s are sitting between 15.0-15.7… fuel trims look to be in check as well.
better video of the car running:
Solid
sounds awesome
Good stuff. Sounds badass!
that thing is pissed off!!!
awsome shit. keep up the good work. theres no reason u shouldnt be running 9’s lol.
just a small update, havent really touched the car ive been lazy and there isnt much to do anyway.
i got my slicks mounted and painted up:
heres the fun part, new tire/wheel combo is 30.2lbs per wheel. my stock wheels with hoosier DR’s are 41.3lbs per wheel.
will be down 44.4 lbs of rotational mass this year just on the tire/wheel combo! im curious as to how much the car weighs now, im hoping its under 3000
