2012-2013 Ski/Snowboard Thread!

Agreed. That’s what I’m wondering too.

Hell, I get bored out here in UT going to the same resorts even with the ever changing snow pack.

No more bailing… you going at all during the week? I might make it out to KB just cause im 10 minutes from there. Night pass is $38 from 4 to 10. HV is $33 4-10.

Not at all. Actually Friday I met some girl there and cruise the whole night. Got a number and met up the following night to ride. Made for quick chair lifts and some great time shredding. I enjoy snowboarding a lot. My brother then asked me to come out Sunday. I would have stayed longer but I was beat up and didnt want to pass out on the ride home. Because of working there I meet a bunch of people that I tend to just randomly run into while I’m there.

LOL at KB charging more than Holiday. I remember people complaining that HV was to expensive, what does KB have better that they can charge more now. HV has more than double the runs and from my understanding, much better conditions too.

Great?

What about grooming and snow cover? I’ve been skiing there for 20 years and the conditions on Monday were by far the worst I’ve ever experienced. The only decent/normal run was Southern Cross. Sunset was OK but had ball chunks of ice everywhere. They hadn’t groomed Nova so there were moguls and all these beginners were stuck and falling all over the place. Universe/Northstar were terrible with moguls, sheer ice and awesome grass patches.

Bailing ha lol. Umm I won’t go to KB, never been there but more money for less does not interest me. Aren’t we going Saturday or Sunday with Dakota?

Snow cover was good and I don’t like riding on groomed surfaces but maybe if they knocked down the moguls everywhere it would be better. The surface was snowy and hardly any ice that I can think of. Granted the trails them selves suck but the snow was nice. I’m used to riding HV where everything is hard pack and/or ice.

I just booked my plane ticket for the end of Feb to go to Brighton and Snowbird. I cant wait. First time I’m going out west.

I know he wants to get out this weekend.

Im going to HV tonight. I guess they have some deal if you get a coffee at Mickey D’s you get a buy one ticket get one free.

Its a whole different world out there. You will never want to ski HV again.

Ive been going out west once a year for the past 10 years and its definitely the highlight of my year.

They do this every season but its typically after the holiday rush. I’ll be down for sure this weekend if you girls want to go. Dakota will be down I’m sure if Chelsea says its okay lol.

Snow storms out in Colorado have been too quiet! Less than 1 month till I head out there. Gonna have to do some Ullr dances on the plane!

I thought I saw for UT they are up to about 110" for the season, probably more now.

Not sure if this is true or not, but I was at the casino over the holidays and could’ve sworn I saw one of their video boards show the ability to use player comp points for lift tickets at HV. I’m not entirely sure about the details but if one was so inclined (and had a player’s club card) you could probably contact one or the other to see if it’s true. Not a bad deal if you want to use your comp points for something other than shows or dinners.

The higher elevation resorts are already >200" for the year; with 5’+ bases.

I’ll be there Sunday again with a few peeps.

Breckenridge is under 100 :frowning:

Heavenly has had a record 209 inches so far. I will be there next week. :headbang:

Anyone going to holiday today? I’m thinking about it .

Went Saturday and Sunday. Hit the jumps finally after 2 years of not doing any. Hit the 2 jumps 3 times each. Conditions were really slow, you had to land the first jump and straightline to the second to clear the knuckle of the landing. Cleared the first jump all 3, clipped the knuckle lightly on 2 and cleared the last a quarter way down the landing the last one on the second jump.

Awesome times and a great feeling again.

How was your trip out there man? The west coast has been quiet the past few weeks. Hopefully some storms are brewing for next week.

12" in the mountains here in NC last night means this guy gets to go out for a warm up day Sunday before my trip out west.

And please tell us you have pictures!!!
