I like the Dakine All-Temp (green) Nitrous. Apply that shit with a hot cast iron pan, fresh off the fire! jk - but doable. I’m not a fan of the soy, even if it’s more “earth conscience.” Just doesn’t apply well IMO.

I’m not allowed in 2 of those places!!! No boarders allowed at Deer Valley or Alta!

You need to ski.

Holiday Valley this morning:

I was just at KB’s website, they don’t even have a gallery or web-cam. ???

Edit: I saw the snow makers going this morning when I drove by.

Idiots at KB fired up the snow guns last week when the forecast was high 50’s for 4 days then 68 and rain for the weekend. Guess they like pissing money away.

KB… lulz

Isnt the ground still too warm to make snow

Can’t… knees are too shot.

Hey, after how long they had to wait to open the past 2 years, they are probably trying to get a jump on HV for once and get the crowds there. HV beat them by a couple weeks iirc last year.

Nope… went to HV for orientation 2 weeks ago and snow was on the ground sticking. melted 2 days later. We had snow on the ground in the Buffalo area for a day or 2 as well.

I’m pumped for the season to kick off but still need to make a damn trip somewhere again. Sucks not having the people to snowboard/ski with since all my friends are lame when it comes to that.

Let me know if you ever want to learn. I’ll show you first hand how it gets done so you can save yourself some money. Its nice to have a fresh wax on the board regularly.

Update on Yesterday’s ride…

Good early season day; groomers were excellent; and it started snowing HARD about 2 hours into the day; enough where tracks on groomers were gone by the time you got back to the top. Was a good overall day.

Made some adjustments to my bindings for the first time in years… what a difference, so much easier to ride, and less strain on my legs.

Used AlpineReplay software on my phone for the first time, figured I’d try it see how it worked. Only had it on in the morning for a few runs, and it worked really well. In 5 or 6 runs, had 5200’ vertical, 6 miles of trails, 32.4 mph high speed, 30.1 sustained. I forgot to turn it back on after my first break/run to my truck for a snack/drink. Not bad for the first few runs since April!

New wax turned out to be epic, was slippery as hell and worked great. Held up through the whole day, and was still slick as shit by the time I left.

Started working on jumps, and could NOT land this 3’ one… I tried 4 times. I’d land it, but could NOT ride out the landing and stabilize. I need a softer/less responsive board…

Just starting to work out the details but it looks like I’m making my trip to Jackson Hole this year. Ive got a few buddies that are out there for the season… can’t wait!

Jackson is my favorite for advanced/expert terrain. The village is awesome too. Oh and so is snowmobiling in the Tetons or Yellowstone!

HV Will be opening on Friday Nov 29th, 5 Lifts and probably quite a few runs.

I’d be nervous about how thick the base is but time will tell

I’m sure it wont be to bad. They have new updated snowmakers that don’t require anyone to turn on or off. They go with the temps and atmosphere around them to give off the best possible amount of snow they can. The slightest in change in the weather, the system will change that single gun to the pressures required and amount of water/air used.

They put about 70+ new ones in on top of the 70+ they already had last year.

Hmmmm

The coverage looks great so far judging by the pictures they have posted on facebook. I think it will be one of the best opening weekends in a very long time.

Jackson Hole 111 (111" that is.)

Skied HV with my daughter and a couple friends 11/30. It was like mid winter conditions.
