such a nice car?? i though we were talking about 240’s here…?
if you dont want to take ur car to the track thats fine, you can go put a big bodykit on it, paint it pink and take it to shows, i could care less BUT for some people taking their car to the track and beating on them is a hobby. i have a fairly clean car by comparison to some peoples on this board, and that is not going to stop me from traking it as soon as i can and possible incuring damage on it along the way (hopefully not but shit happens).
thats liek telling someone that plays basketball to go show case they $200 dollar ball they just bought rather than use it the way its ment to be used and let it get worn out.
oh btw the widebody flat black 240 you saw, im pretty sure it’s enzos_lil_shumi on this board
i dont think any car was made to be turned into a shitbox. you can track your car and run your car hard, shit does happen. no car was made to crash because you thought you’d try a little drifting and pretend your some superstar.
I doubt anyone really cares about your complaining, thats why.
So what, the 240 becomes the new civic, what are you gonna do about it?
Bitching and whining doesn’t do anything.
The fact that the 240 is becoming popular is actually great. Because of this you greater availablity in parts, cheaper parts, more info, more help, bigger network of people to help you out.
Back 5-6 years ago, it was very hard to find anything for these cars, lowering springs had to be special ordered, and they’d cost 350-500$. Good luck if u wanted a SR.
If u want exclusivity, and ‘uniqueness’ and not to be part of a big trend, go buy a Saturn, I can guarantee you they will never be a trend… unless its the Sky, that car is hot.
240sxlover - I can understand how it can be easy to become frustrated by our attitutudes, however you’re not understanding the nature of these cars.
Most of them are beaten up to hell and rusted beyond belief. If you want to have a nice one and look at other nice ones, get an S14, most of those seem to be pretty well taken care of.
With the S13, it’s a very different story. The cars sell for very little, and they’re quite common, so they’re usually owned by the lowest common denominator (myself, really :D)
So, lets say for example my car. It needs a paintjob pretty bad, there’s scratches everywhere and tiny dings, and the rear of the car is flatblack, since the bumper’s paint has been weather worn, and my hatch used to be red, so I flat-blacked it. I’d like to paint my car, but I quite simply don’t have the money to. If I DID have the money, I would simply buy coilovers. If I still had money, I’d get swaybars, if I still had money, I’d get a non-hicas subframe and some aluminum bushings. You get the picture? Only if I had a very large sum of money would my car get a paintjob, and if I had a very large sum of money, I would just sell my car and get an FD or something. This is why very few people have nice S13s, and nothing you say or do can change that. They’re always gonna be owned by broke-ass punks that don’t care about making them look good.
I have to say I understand what 240sxlover is saying, no one wants to see something they like wreaked.
It’s like when you get in a nice merc or BMW and the owner has spilt coffee on the floor and there are coca-cola sticky rings on the dash.
You wonder why someone bought that car instead of some cheaper incredibly basic mode of transportation…
(Like a Hyundai Accent, or a Sentra SE-R)
