heyy guys, I just got my exhaust installed, it’s off my buddy DubV’s CA powered coupe.
We installed it yesterday on my KAE, from the stock idle of 700rpm with my HKS intake from previously it now rose to 800rpm idle, also when I let off the gas sometimes, it makes some pretty sweet popping sounds from the exhaust also in between shifting at high revs.
I like the popping sounds haha but then again I guess I’m running rich? is there a way to adjust this if I am? since it can effect gas mileage and stuff. Engine-wise I’m just running an HKS intake with the 3" Dual Tip XS Power exhaust. Can I also bring back the idle to 700rpm? is it worth it?
There’s an allen screw on the throttle body, as well as, I believe an 8 or 10mm nut that locks its position. Loosen the nut, then use an allen driver/key to adjust the throttle body’s idle position.
Your idle went up by 100rpm? How do you even notice that on the stock tach. The popping is probably because the exhaust is more straight through and 3-inch.
Why do you think you are running rich from all this? An exhaust shouldnt affect anything other than sound and performance.
lol, how can you not notice it?!! it’s right there on the tach, read and interpret the lines…
it also went back to 700rpm stock idle all by itself too, readjusted from noticing the change to the flow.
