The turbo that blew had no blade damage, no shaft play either. However there was a large amount of oil in the turbo outlet. The housing was also cracked.
looks good. reminds me why i stayed as far away as possible from the b5 s4. doing the rear coolant flange on my b6 a4 was a big enough PITA couldnt imagine wrenching on one of these for an extended period of time.
I’ll get better pictures eventually. That’s realistically what the car is worth based on averaging what they go for in this condition and mileage, so I’m not concerned with it not selling.
I gotta get my shit together today first though haha. I had to buy a new motor mount, a coolant banjo bolt, zip ties and g12 and new power steering fluid.
On another note, hows your turbo F-body project coming?
My turbo F-bod project? I would assume you are talking to someone else.
For the for sale ad, from experience, I would say to make sure to get all the little stuff done first. Get those good pics up there ASAP as you have to remember that you are leaving a first impression on everyone who sees the ad.

Don’t get me wrong, This S4 is a sweet car. It’s worth every penny I put into it even if I were to drive it into the ground. It does everything any car enthusiast wants (Acceleration, comfort, handling, practicality) and it’s not like it’s expensive either. The only thing that’s wacky on it is the amount of labor to get everything done properly. The car is 100% everything I wanted it to be and more when it comes to reliability and drive ability as of right now. I’m not a VAG rat anymore I guess.
I’m looking at a 24v Cummins turbo diesel pick up for $6500 and the rest of the funds are going into further car investments to flip.
Not bad for a 17 year old who started out with a $300 Ford escort with the same mind set I do now. The only thing boning me is that I’m limited to 5 personal transactions per year by NY state until I get my dealer license at the end of summer.
I started off working at McD’s when I was 15. About 30 flipped cars, and 4 years of school, I live in Houston, have a great job, no loans, and a paid in full vette and M3. Doing the AKA Rally this year, yippy, getting married (too much $$$) and maybe buying a house. Got to have the drive to succeed my friend, good for you.
So you are doing this for profit? Perhaps you should be a sponsor on the local euro forum you are selling it on?
No I’m not a dealership I’m a 17 year old kid trying to buy work my way up the car food chain.
Here’s the finished product:
Things left to do:
-Install new motor mount(Driver side one is trashed)
-Install new power steering pump(Original one’s bearing are on their way out.
Sell.
The car runs flawlessly, It’s super solid. I love driving it, I think it’s a beautiful car. I have been having second thoughts daily about putting this car up for sale. But I desperately need a work truck.
