I just got done putting a jdm tranny (non lsd) in my prelude. I went to take it for a spin and i felt a little grind going into 5th gear. A few miles later when i went to go into fifth, the gear was gone and it just reved out like it was in neutral. All the other gears seem to work fine. Why is this happening?
im with stupid someone sold you a pos the syncro is prolly shot but that is uncommon 5th? usually its a lower one maybe the guy did alot of 1st to 5th’s where’d you buy it

um seems like u may have done what i did. mine did it in fourth and i took the tranny out to find all the teeth on my gear are toast. my advice take it out and stop driving it cuz if theres teeth in there ull do more damage
I bought it from someone on roclife.com I guess the next thing for me to do is check the fluid level.
drop the pan, check for debris, if it is clean try refiling with synthetic gear oil. just my $0.02
we took the car for a ride today after he got some things sorted out. I think the linkage needs adjusting. It will shift into 5th gear, but u have to really push it pretty far forward, and its grinding quite a bit going in. It doesnt grind into any other gear. u guys think that adjusting the linkage would help with it?
