Hey guys… Bought a used 94 Sentra E 1.6L Anyways she seems to have idle that goes up and down when I come to a stop. I’m not famieler with this car as I just bought it but curious as what may be the issue(s), prefer one issue lol… Thanks if anyone can help
First check to see your throttle cable is tight to the assembly, if it is:
My 93 Altima had a similar problem, It’s most likely the IAC Valve (Idle Air Control) is probably getting covered with gunk. Get a can of throttle/intake cleaner and removed the intake piping from the throttle body. Spray the cleaner into the deepest area if the intake manifold, but careful to not pool it too much. Start car, which will be hard so keep cranking and give it some gas. Rev it until you get all the cleaner out. Then see if it idles better, if not you may need to do it a couple of times.
If this doesn’t do it, well you may have a bad MAF or O2 Sensor (have seen them fail and not throw the Check Engine Light).
