951 winter progress

285 front, 335 rear.

wow, i love this build. lookin good!

wait, im confused. your making a wide body car widebody again or wider body then before? or is this whole build just to be able to use dzuse clips?

Ok, here is the break down in order of creation and body

924 - narrow body
924 GTP - flares tacked onto narrow body
944/944 turbo body style created which is a “wider” body than the 924, but not as wide as the 924 GTP or the 944 GTR (which uses similar bodywork).

HOWEVER the GTP flares were never meant to “fit” on the “wider” bodywork. So I had to get narrow stuff to graft these on. BUT since parts of the body contours still remain, the 924 panel actually bows out a touch, making this even wider than the factory 924 GTP.

If that isnt confusing

god i love when you talk dirty to me… looking good.

The car is looking sick as usual, but Time Attack rims? Will the trend ever end?!

 Hopefully I can take you for a few laps at Dunnville for the BBQ

No  I really liked my last set and only had them at the BE show last year before I sold them to my buddy’s g/f for her 996 C2.

(On the left at the last BlownEuroz meet).

Anyway, bit of progress for today, got the fender wells trimmed, cut up the passanger’s side bodywork, continued trimming panels. Hopefully going to have both sides mocked up tomorrow, and dzus fastenered up Monday/Tuesday so the panels can go out for paint end of the week. Engine should go back together this coming week too  The splitter and some other random crap arent on the car right now, but it’s certainly coming along.

Lunch break!

that overhead view looks mean

very nice!

sweet mike, coming along nicely.

can i get a ride at dunnville as well? never been in a turbo porsche besides a 996 cab.

 x 10

im probably missing something here, but why did you cut the quarter panels so high when the inner wheel well is as low as it is?

Weight savings.

wow dude that is looking GREAT

Looks like its coming along well. Get ready for the 100-200 roll.

Mike’s not the only widebody in Rochester (spotted on my way back from lunch)…

But he is the only one with rear fenders. :picard:

I think that kids name is Greg, the car is multi-colored because he got into an accident I’m pretty sure.

edit: prob also why its sort of half put together still

Looks like just the fenders are new. I saw it a couple weeks ago with stock white fenders.

Yeah, but it’s an NA, with a widebody front end. Even if he does the rear, why would he ever need it with his whopping 100hp.
