My uncle called, said he was driving on the Turnpike and his truck just quit, had it towed home, has llights and stuff, but wont start, any ideas why it just quit while running and why it wont start, thanks???
great descriptive thread.
Thats all I know at this point.
seen him, it fell behind a white / black duramax towing a red ls1 fireturd
problem was, The duramax ate all the air around the ford within a 3 mile radius.
Fuel problem, 97 was a horrible year for fuel pump or one of the fuel tanks not interacting with the switch. drained one dry.
i’ll argree with that. check your fuel pressure
check for spark or fuel to narrow it down. it could be a fuel pump, relay, ignition module, cam sensor…
cam sensor shouldn’t keep it from starting. it’ll just have bad throttle response and may run rougher at idle
the cam sensor went bad on my old car and it would not start. :dunno:
the crank sensor went also, and that will also make it not start.
did he run the truck out of gas?
cam sensors on the older sohc 4.6s and 5.4s don’t affect spark at all. it’s just there for sequential fuel injection i believe. if the sensor signal is missing it just defaults to batch fire
