Hey guys, while driving the car out of my driveway yesterday i noticed the abs light came on,
i can hear what i think is a seized caliper (but not too positive)
fluid is toped off…
no leaks…
but the brakes feel funny, can’t really describe it…
checked the pads and was suprised to find the the driver side brakes are wearing unevenly … with the other side +
i’m gonna need a new drivers rear pad since it’s almost gone…
could abs be on because that pad is almost gone ?
anyway to check if the caliper is siezed ?
i’m stumped and anything would help
Probably siezed sliders on the caliper. Take off the caliper and see if you can move the two sliders in and out… They sieze up all the time on Nissans.
Nice post Darkman. He’s just going to pull out seized sliders by hand  . If the sliders are siezed, get a torch and heat the bracket where the slider sits. Don’t heat the slider it-self. Use vise grips on the end of the slider to rotate it while you heat it, to break the rust bond. You shouldn’t have to use much force to turn the slider it you heat it enough. A propane torch will out it just take a lot longer.
