ACT Organic Clutch Users

During break-in, was you clutch noisy?

I’ve just installed a ACT NS1-HDSS. Flywheel was resurfaced, lightened, balanced by Leitner. B&M SS was installed. Oil changed to Redline MT90. All work done by Rick at RT Motorsports.

Clutch engaged is beautifully and grippy, shifting is orgasmic and “notchy”, everthing feels perfect…however when accelerating and/or decellerating the clutch is quite noisy.

Anybody else have experience with the ACT organic disks? Was yours noisy? Did it quiet as it broke in?

(I currently have about 120km on the new setup)

Thanks for any info guys.

Nobody had any input?
Nobody has a ACT clutch here?

Hey man what’s up.

I just got an ACT disc too but I can’t remember the part number. I do know it’s good for 270lbs of torque to the flywheel. Is that the same rating as yours?

I have’nt found the clutch any more noisy then the last one I had (Excedy) and my old stock one. I just started my break in period though, 200km’s ish into it, so maybe that’s it.

Stupid question’s I know but, did you change the release bearing and pilot bushing? If not that could be it. As well I know the B&M shortshifter does rattle a lot! So try and distinguish that what your hearing is the clutch and not the shifter.

Anyway I’ll let you know if I do hear anything.

Take care.

Yeah – I’m hoping it will chill out a bit once break-in is complete.

What’s kinda making me worry though is that it sounds bearing related… I’m going to give it the full 1000 clicks break in and if it is still noisy I’ll take it in.

And as for shifter – I’m pretty sure it’s not shifter related because I haven’t gone over 3k RPM yet so haven’t heard any shifter rattle.

mine never made any noise
