Adam and Phil are old men… they wanted the club to become a racing club for people only interested in becoming sanctioned by a particilar racing body… it ceased to be a 240sx club at that time.

please dont glorify them as being anything more than what they were. the golden days of SON, if there were any, were after they left and to be honest i think we might be in the midst of the best times right now anyways and everyone is just failing to see it because they never stopped to realise what they wanted back then and that it pretty much happened.

no hate for Adam or Phil, i have spoken to Adam several times, i like him, he’s cool, i respect what he does and what he knows but they were wrong about many things as well, for example their excuse that they left because of a liability for SON user’s actions… that is bullshit… its an excuse.

they left, they were not pushed away, andrew took over at that time… please also remember that… they left of their own accord.

anyone want to PLEASE articulate what is actually wrong…??

i also only see like 5-6 people here who actually care… that represents less than half of 1% of the user base and maybe 1% of the consistently active members… does that put things into perspective…

The club has become exactly what everyone voted for it to become just after Phil and Adam left… no one wanted it to be CASC sanctioned, except for a select few (who currently moderate) everyone wanted these forums to be a place to hang out and talk…

I agree that this has not been a club for a long time.
A club involves a lot more dedication than people on here are giving.
I had to almost pick pocket members to get the initial donations to keep the club from goin under when phil gave up.

Admin/mods on son are thankless jobs.
you get yelled at for doing what your suposed to do.
then the forum goes down because we dont have enough money to get the web space we need and mods and admin just get hurrassed until its back up.

I wouldnt trust 95% of the members to the positions.
the guys we have now have been involved here for years. A few since the begining. They have put effort into the club before they were in admin/mod positions. If all your going to do is make BS posts and bitch, go somewhere else. If your willing to be a part of the son community, pay the membership fee and dont waste our bandwidth.

finally if the community really wants a change we would be hearing from more than 4 or 5 members.

LOL a caste system. I love it. As much as I make fun of n00bs when they say dumb shit, a lot of shit being said by “respected elites” is just as dumb if not WORSE. If you want to make an online forum to give you some sort of acknowledgement by giving you “rank” to feel good about yourself, then please, go ahead. A caste system is the most arrogant, ignorant, and just plain fucking retarded suggestion I’ve ever heard. And by reading and posting on SON, I hear some pretty dumb shit.

If you guys want a more professional, racing based subset in the forum, why don’t you create another forum (like members and car media for example) and call it SON Racing, charge admission to THAT, and use that money to throw track days, etc… We can even have someone time our laps and we can have a little power board like in Top Gear. It can incorporate a more advanced tech section, where we can discuss car setup, as well as lines on certain tracks, and share tips to improve our times.

All while keeping the main forum free for people that:
just want to hardpark with cars built to “ziptied spec”
want to talk big in their rusted to death stock cars
want to impress girls in their mom’s SAAB

alot of people take for granted the work Andy and Bing put into this site that you dont know about, and the costs it takes to even run a forum.

now a days people like Bing and Andy have lives, and things to do, back when they were in there teens they had free time to contribute to this place.

Andy used to have several things for sale on son back in the day for dirty prices (adressing all the cheap son people who complain because they dont get 10 dollars off somthing)

It is natural progression, things change, peoples lives change. This Club is changing and it needs to be guided and directed.

We definitely need some changes around son. I see myself going to ka-t.org more and more because its moral is a bit better. U dont get flammed over there for having something different on ur car.

As for the admin i totally agree with the fact that, if u dont own a 240 you shouldnt be in the admin. You should be a active member of the forum like its been said. IE going to the track, meets, etc etc. The is totally right with everything hes said

This is a great forum. Hell when i first got my 240 i didnt even know about son. And without son i probably wouldnt have a 240 to this day. People e thugs, but in person your all cool guys. This is a HUGE community. Face it guys, we have some of the biggest unsponsered meets around. This club should grow in a good way so it will still be here in 5 years and not just some broken down thing we talk about to our friends.

Changes must be made for the greater good of this club
