Albany Speed Shop / Krazy Kid Kustoms 2004 Jetta Track Car

I thought that 475 was supposed to spool around 3 and change? What i have been reading is swap the basket to a billet one and replace the clutch packs and some other small things in there and they hold good power.

ill have to do some more research between the two. 4l80e with a manual valve body and shift kit will hold better you say?

4l80E = 205lbs withOUT a converter without fluids
TH400 = 180lbs with an 11" converter and fluids
TH350 = 160lbs with an 11" converter and fluids

powerglide = 95lbs without converter!

google said so, and I said so! I could lift the glide out of my truck and bring it in the shop. it took 2 people to move the 4lXe around at my house!

It will spool around ~3500RPM, but with that faggoty 2 speed you’ll need all the stall you can get. As for a 4L80e, you don’t need a FMVB. You are better off letting the transmission shift itself, I can even setup a switch that forces it into full manual mode when you want it to be that way.

$1500 built. hold more power than the duramin + LS 76MM.

Plenty of RX7’s, supras, gremlins, datsuns, (lil light cars) with v8 turbz running glides and doing just fine on the track. If the thing can get on and off a trailer its fine by me. realistically I dont see this thing hitting the streets under its own power. Dumping it off a trailer at midnight… thats a different story.

No, the one that holds the power is $4000. That’s a budget glide there, no HP rating given.

Well if you don’t plan on it hitting the streets, fuck it. Run the glide. Build it yourself if you can as they seem simple. Don’t skimp on the converter though…

yeah i miss read that lol.

its all a learning experience. parts are cheap for them and its just like legos, piece comes out and piece goes in. we will see what happens. At this point though, I can start putting the rest of the front end together, motor, radiator, turbo, exhaust, charge piping, IC, plumbing, fuel system, etc. then fill in the middle part later (trans, drive shaft, trans cross member floor, scatter shield, firewall)

I heard this CRC racing joint can build a powerglide to hold 2400hp for beer money. Any idea if they are legit?

I’d like to give a shout out to JDaniels and Myself for researching this build which so was cleverly stolen by KrazyKid.

Capital Region Customs you say??? I know the owner.

I punched the owner.

Better have tried, ask Sbardy.

Stop fishing and start welding shit.

fishing is better then carssss

You’re dead to me. Please turn in your Camaro-bro badge and handbook to the receptionist on the way out.

LOLLL

the rate im going, the camaro wont be out again until 2020.

that glide will hold whateverrrrr ya want it to

A believer!!! YESSSSSS!

you are the R&D specialist, I just applied what was proven. lol

Not in the current form.

no , but how light he is and what he wants that glide is the best choice for the setup
