All motor no corner?

Iv been off the site for a few years now, traveling around BC at the moment, but when I get back to T.O I plan to geting a 240 again. So after lurking around the forums again, especially on the build up thread all I see is motor builds, and that got me thinking, why all motor and no corner? I understand that ontario is all straight lines with the minimalist of corners, so I guess that in turn reflects on the builds that tuners choose, your not going be taking on twistys any time soon, maybe the odd off ramp sweepers, but Toronto is mostly 90 degree turns. So is there anyone out there whos spending serious coin on suspension mods and setups?

For me there aren’t any cars that I will own in the near future that can beat the straight line speed and thrill of my Kawi ZX9R. So what im fantasizing about is the perfect dd/track day car, an sr or ka-t with 250-300 RELIABLE whp , and a fully adjustable suspension setup that can be easily switched from track back to the road. Im going to work for that sweat spot, a nice clean sleeper look with a good fun amount of hp and be able to turn on a dime without breaking my spine on the bumps streets, the perfect tuner car :D. Truly a tall task to ask for, but im not in a hurry, and im defiantly going to be putting my time into it. I understand that having a dd also as a track day car is always risky, huge chances of something breaking on the track and then affecting my travels to work the next day. Having the suspension setup for track use and also livable with on the streets is quite a fine line, im not looking for race miata type handling, but at the same time I dont want crazy under/overstear, enough to have the car handle great around the track and comfy enough to ride to work the next day. And of course I don’t want my driving mistakes to be masked by gratuitous amounts of power, and at the same time not limiting any free spirited ride around town. Again that perfect balance of power, handling, and daily life reliability.

I’m sure there’s enough people on this forum that are also striving for these desired result, and enough who have reached them, if you have can you please share your ride and experience on how you made that happen.

I realise i started writing this in the technical thread, if its not in the right place feel free to relocate, but I hope this end ups into a technical discussions about obtainable power and suspension setups.

almost everybody building their cars here is focusing on suspension aswell as engine, just engine work is usually one of the first done it seems now

Handling > Speed. I have coilovers, multilink, tie rods, tension rods, wheels, race bucket and a decent alignment. I am quite happy with the handling of my car whether its set up for drift or grip. Still no crazy power under my hood.

You probably just think that because no body posts pics of them bolting on multi linking and getting an alignment done. Engine builds are much more interesting.

Corners are our BFF’s.
