dual G20 fans yet to be wired.

i have not had a chance to really push the car yet so i will let you all know
how the steering feels when i do.

No power steering is a really bad idea dude. Cars that came without power steering from the factory have a different steering rack. The ratios are very different, so turning the wheel on a car without power steering and a non-ps rack, and turning the wheel on a car WITH a ps rack that has had the PS disconnected is very different.
Especially if you’re going into motorsports, where you’re running stickier tires, with more force acting on them, it will become very difficult for you to turn the wheel and handle your vehicle properly.

stop being a pussy ive had no ps for a year and a half and i can still drift fine and take corners fine.

What’s the point of this thread?

^^^^^

no point really. after sitting in the garage for so long i was just
happy to see it outside so i just felt like posting
some pics.

i will be starting a new thread on how the car feels
with no power streering.

Can we please get out of the habit of recycling advice we haven’t actually tried for ourselves?

Yes, the ratios are different, and a manual rack will always give you more angle, but since there are no manual racks available for S13s and S14s, your only option is a no-power PS rack.

PS will always deaden your steering feel. It is an ACCESSORY.

“oh noes, I can’t dorifto without power windows or a CD player!”

The only time it will give you a hassle is parallel parking, maybe monkeying around in the pits.

So if you do your racing at under 10 km/h, you might miss it.

60lbs of weight on the front of your motor plus 15hp to turn the pump is not helping anyone.

And if you have ghey Toyota speed-sensitive PS, you’re going to kill yourself trying to drift or race with it.

The ratios being different is a fact. It not being designed to be used in that manner is a fact, however I will admit that I haven’t actually tried it myself. That being said, someone with a LOT more knowledge and experience when it comes to racing than either of you, TOLD me it’s a horrible idea when I was asking him about doing it to my car.

Try driving derek’s S14 on slicks without powersteering and a lot of caster and let me know how you like it

Street tires without much caster is one thing, or a car that is designed to not have power steering like jovers AE or my old MR2, but when you are struggling jsut to turn the wheel there is no way you will be able to go as fast as wehn you are in full control of the car.

THen again im not a baller like scotty or jesse

hey i dont need it but it sure helps.

if you cant turn your not going fast enough, it only bothered me for about 2 days now my muscles are like arnolds and its all a joke 8)

Haha, but you’ll still bitch about it till the cows come home

Was waiting for that. No power steering is fine for all season and driving to work, even tho it takes more effort to turn the wheel. However, on slicks without power steering, have fun.

Derek was running with no PS on slicks…Derek your a goof.
