another possible headache

happens everytime my car gets close to completion!!

whats happening:

2 matching kunckles (obv one driver and other pass)

2 identical hubs

2 identical bearings

2 identical snaprings

i checked all lengths and everything!

went to press in first bearing and everything looked awesome

went to press in the second one, the piece of the hub the bearing sits on sticks out slightly farther than the bearing itself

so i put them next to eachother, bearings sit exactly the same at the same spot inside the knuckle, both snap rings are in properly, and both hubs are equally spaced out from the surface of the knuckle (entrance for hub after bearings been pressed in)

the hubs are the same length, and theyre at the same spot but somehow one is further passed the bearing than the other, im kinda losing my mind, pics to come

ideas for now: grind off the remaining 1/8th inch of the hub that sticks passed the bearing so the surfaces are even for the axle to sit on
2. maybe thats just the way it is and i never noticed cause driver side and pass side are obviously diff axles

I feel as if I may be of some assistance if I understood exactly what you were saying. I’ll be looking for the pics. I think you’re saying the bearing race sticks out further than the bearing itself but I’m not positive.

but isnt this what makes it fun…sorry
