What kind of shoe are you using? Shoes regardless of brand usually come in Supportive or Cushion
I need a supportive shoe because I have high arches and tend to pronate which causes ankle and tendon problems.
They say the best thing is to run barefoot. There is some tribe of people in Africa who do all their running without shoes and runners have learned a lot about the natural structure of the foot and its mechanisms. I need a supportive shoe, but to listen to what researchers say about this tribe, it would seem that I now have a dependency in my foot on the support of the shoes. The theory is that moderns shoes prohibit natural foot movement.
Nike has some line of shoe now that is virtually supportless and weightless. Its more or less a second skin for your bare feet. Tough to use outdoors but on a treadmill they would be great.
