In general, shorter high intensity workouts are good for fat burning right?

40 min runs are pretty good. do that for a while and you’ll be in great shape. I need to start running too…even though im at the gym a lot and play hockey twice a week, running is key. Ugg, I need more time
I run every other day just around my complex 5-6 times, I’m not too far from you today but tomorrow i’ll be on a one way flight to Florida so that doesn’t help. When I was 18ish I used to run 9 miles a day 4-5 times a week.
the 1st 20 min (give or take) of any run will burn what sugar you have stored up in your muscles.
then it will move on to the next source, depending on how you eat this could be ketones or protein.
jogging or keeping your HR around 65% will burn fat, but you wont burn shit for cals unless you do it for an hour. its a fucking waste of time.
intervals give you the best of both, and help build lean muscle, and where your done you have a better after burn.
i suggest reading Ready, Set, Go! Synergy Fitness. especially if you’re getting close to 30.

newman, do intervals for 20-30 min (with warm up and cool down) to get the most “bang for your buck” on the tread.

my knees are wrecked from skateboarding and playing hockey (goalie). i ride a roadbike for excercise, its very low impact (pretty much none) plus you can spend a day-off and take a 50 mile or so trip, its great

I’m ghey and rollerblade. But I’m definatly in the quarter-mile club. Move a bit pass-out, move a bit more repeat. This thread definatly reminded me to go out and exercise more. :tup:
Shit same here. Been doing a lot of biking. Mixing up the power bursts of trail riding, with the endurance of road biking.
But I really would love to find a rec soccer leage to play thi fall. Nothing competitive. Something fun, and laid back.
I hate just running more than anything. Running within sports, ie soccer is good.
