I thought it was kinda cool. The guy I work for downtown uses one of these. When you are changing your oil you put the empty bottles into it and with about 3 oil changes or so you get a free quart.
Seems like it will end up being a big mess after a while. Uses a lot of space too. Not worth it in my opinion for a quart every 3 oil changes.
we did it at the dealer, used a chopped up gallon washer fluid jug put into a 5qt castrol jug with the wide mouth and you can put two qts upside down in the washer jug to drain. when you do 10 or 12 services a day it adds up and you dump the drippings in a car and keep the new bottles for yourself. adds up to a few quarts in a couple days. for home use it would be quite lame though.
