Anyone work for a collision place?

Have experience?

Here is my issue:

99 vw passat 2 weeks ago i hit a deer, I go to pick it up today, they replaced:

Hood
Radiator Core Support
Bumper Grill
Headlights

I come in and the whole front end is sagging over an inch, on the left side, gap between the headlight and bumper so big i can stick my fingers in it.

They tell me they belive the car was in an accident before i bought it, and that the front end is out of whack, i tell them i have MANY pictures from before where there was no gap and the entire front end aligned properly.

so they tell me they have to have my insurance company look at it again before they can work on it more

WTF?

how is this even possible? being that I have proof the car looked right before they have no way of not fixing this correct?

i would imagine that they would have to fix it, until it looks 100%, or atleast how it was before.

and i don’t see how, even if it was in an accident before… it would prevent them from having to fix it properly now.

i’d ask to talk to the manager/owner of the collision place.

what collision shop are you at?

nulook

bull fucking shit.

they did a shitty job. how can they prove that it was in an accidednt b4 and the deer did not do that damage

Jew-Look - ROTFLMAO…

My Ex used to work at one of those shops, and my brother was one of the lead techs there for many years; neither work there anymore.

I would defenetly go back there and raise a stink. Even if it was in a prior accident and there was issues, while they’re in there they should fix it to at least the condition it was before, and if you have pictures, I’d really raise hell.

What location were you at and who’d you deal with? I still know a lot of the people there.

henrietta, i don’t have the managers name, i went there because they came reccomended from my GF who works at state farm, i did happen to mention if this can’t be resolved they would loose all referals from that office :ohnoes:

they did a shitty job.

serioulsy, have your insurance call them. have them handle it… . they wont listen to you

They are trying to bone you dude. Insurance fucking looked at it already. It doesnt fucking matter if the car was in a accident before or not. Its their responsibility to fix it. The looked at it and acessed the damage. They gave a quote and the insurance company also gave a quote.

Those fucking assholes are trying to make more off the insurance payment by doing less. Call the insurance company and raise a major stink. Last I checked the car has to be fixed TO YOUR SATISFACTION.

well at least i have a sWEET chevy malibu rental car

fucking thing sucks ass

they are full of shit

what happened is that they thoght it would be an easy panel swap , they painted the panles off the car, and when they put everything on, they found the frame was bent down from the deer hitting it

there is no conceivable way that they can get a headlight gap like that dude

the jetta bumper bolts to the front bumper onderneith the grill, and locks into the fender on the side

teh headlight bolts to the same piece of the radiator support at the bottom!!!

they seriosly fucked this up somehow, and i have no cle how

they should have testfitted everything and had the insurance Co back out there when they realized the problem then

youg ot a fuckin MALIBU!!! dude why didnt you tell me…lets go pwn some n008s

Hahahahahah sweet

the car has teh NYSPEED sticker on it already i thought that would be enough for them to be like OMG fix this guy is L337

I saw them…they were all

:eek::eek::eek::shrug::confused::eyebrow:

OH NOOESSSS

i run a bodyshop, the car prob has some unibody damage that they did not repair. the car needs to be set-up and measured to confirm correct structual alignment. take that thing back to them to fix it right. if they give u a hard time call up your ins. co. and get them involved. they can reinspect the car and go after the shop if need be.

well, the insurance won’t pay to have frame damage fixed because it was pre-existing, the body shop says the have to modify the core support to make it work (shim it i assume) while they were trying to do this they managed to crack a plastic brace (shock) so they need it for ANOTHER day, i know it won’t look right, I really don’t care about the existing damage, i knew it was there when i bought the car, but whoever worked on BEFORE managed to get it to line up right, i don’t understandhow they can’t

fucking sucks :frowning:

just because someone was able to “rig” it to make it level still doesnt mean it was right. but they shoulda told u about it when they had it apart, reccomending to you to get it fixed correctlly to make the car right…
